Tangrams are an ancient Chinese game. No one knows exactly when or how they originated. According to a legend over 1,000 years old, a man named Tan dropped a tile, and it shattered into 7 pieces. While trying to reassemble it into a square, he discovered that it could be arranged into a variety of different shapes.
