In Scotland Yard, one player takes on the role of "Mr. X," representing the London underworld, and tries to escape from the Scotland Yard detectives played by the others. Mr. X has the advantage of moving secretly across the board, forcing the police to guess his current location. Their only clues are the London transport tickets Mr. X uses to travel. The police must catch and arrest the fugitive within 24 turns, or Mr. X wins.
