In 1347, the Black Death ravages Europe. The ruler of the land has succumbed to the plague, and princes now clash in a struggle to replace the old king. In Rattus Cartus, you travel across the kingdom to gather loyal followers from various classes of medieval society. Each day, you can visit a different city—each featuring unique buildings and offering different benefits. By entering a building belonging to a specific social class, you recruit followers from that class. From time to time, you can also recruit strangers lurking in the streets. Rats also scurry through the streets, but one or two rats won't kill you… right?

Rattus Cartus is a card game based on the board game Rattus. It includes twelve different buildings; sometimes you use them all, other times only a few. Every new game offers a wide range of possibilities. Will you play it safe, or will you take the risk and perish from the plague?
