Description
Race for the Galaxy is a unique card game where you discover the hidden secrets of the universe. If you enjoy San Juan (the card version of the popular Puerto Rico), you will love Race for the Galaxy!
Explore, settle, develop, trade, or produce? What matters most to you right now? Now that long-distance travel is so easy, which Earth-based life form will be the most successful at settling the Galaxy? Who will uncover the forgotten secrets from the era of alien civilizations? Your goal: build the most powerful space empire.
How to play:
- Each player receives a starting planet, a set of action cards, and six game cards, from which they choose four.
- All players simultaneously choose one action card based on what they intend to do in that round. Once everyone has chosen, the cards are revealed. The order of actions is determined by the numbers on the cards.
- Every revealed action is performed by all players. The player who played the card receives the corresponding bonus for that action.
- Possible actions are: explore, develop, settle, consume, and produce.
- Explore allows players to draw new cards, develop allows you to play technology cards, settle allows you to play planet cards, and consume allows you to use goods gained during production.
- Played technology and planet cards provide new bonuses for individual actions, and some also grant victory points. Additionally, every played card itself represents a certain number of victory points.
- You pay for playing cards by discarding cards from your hand, except for military cards, which can be played for free if you have the required military strength.
- The game ends when at least one player has 12 or more cards played at the end of a round, or when the victory point tokens run out. The player with the most points wins and surpasses all other conquerors of the galaxy.

A card game where you explore the universe, develop new technologies, colonize planets, and mine them for resources. You'll need to be better—and faster—than your opponents. The card art is stunning. It plays fantastically with 2 players, but it's just average with 4. It's quite prone to analysis paralysis, so I recommend playing with people who don't suffer from it. And sometimes, it can be a bit confusing for new players.
Karetní hra, ve které prozkoumáváte vesmír, vyvíjíte nové technologie, osidlujete nové planete a těžíte na nich nejrůznější zdroje. K tomu se snažíte být lepší (a hlavně rychlejší) než ostatní hráči. Hra má velmi pěkné ilustrace na kartách. Hra je fantastická ve 2 hráčích a průměrná ve 4. Je docela náchylná na analýzu-paralýzu, takže doporučuji hrát s lidmi, kteří tímto problémem netrpí. A někdy je příliš matoucí pro nové hráče...
A game that truly hits its stride with expansions, this is a real gem among card games. The rules are a bit clunky at first, but the game system becomes very intuitive after a few rounds, and the card pictograms guide you through every phase perfectly. I definitely recommend sleeving your cards; shuffling will wear them down over time, and you don't want to be able to tell what's coming next on top of your deck.
Hra, která dostane toy správné grády až z rozšířením patří mezi klenoty karetních her. Pravidla jsou trošku kostrbatější, ale herní systém je po několika kolech velice intuitivní a karty vedou svými piktogrami skrz všechny fáze velice dobře. Rozhodně doporučuji obalit, kartičky časem degraduje míchání a poznávat, co přijde na vršku není úplně dobré.
I've had RFTG for quite a while now and it's a fantastic card game with tons of combo possibilities. The build quality is excellent, and there's plenty of room in the box for future expansions. Highly recommended.
Hru RFTG mám poměrně dlouho a je to skvělá karetní hra se spoustou kombinačních možností. Kvalita zpracování je velice dobrá a v krabici je dost místa na případná rozšíření. Doporučuji.
