This dark pu-erh shu tea has undergone controlled fermentation and five years of aging (produced in 2016), giving it a smooth, well-rounded flavor profile. It comes from the Menghai region in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan province, China – the traditional heartland of pu-erh.
It is pressed into a tuo cha (nest) shape, which helps the tea age evenly and makes it easy to store. The taste is dominated by earthy and woody notes, and the infusion is dark and full-bodied.
