Description
A traditional drink of the Paraguayan Indians made from the dried leaves of the Yerba Mate plant. The infusion is highly stimulating and stands out for its pleasantly bitter taste with a smoky aroma. You can get creative with Maté by mixing it into blends, sweetening it with sugar, or softening it with milk.

I don't own a calabash or a bombilla, so I prepare my maté like tea. I pour 85–90°C water over the leaves and steep for about 3–4 minutes. It tastes great on its own and even better with a teaspoon of cane sugar. You'll need a high-quality strainer for steeping, though, as the leaves are very fine. It's a nice change of pace from regular tea every once in a while.
I really like the taste, it reminds me of green tea. I recommend brewing it with cooler water rather than boiling. The packaging is simple and practical.
