At the same time, it offers plenty of tactical depth, so experienced players will enjoy it too. The component quality is good, though it is a shame that the adventurers you hire for quests are represented by cubes. Simpler components naturally reflect in the price, making LoW a great deal—you get a high-quality game for a relatively low price. You don't need to know the game's lore, but if you are a fan of the Forgotten Realms, it is definitely a plus.

Lords of Waterdeep je dobře vybalancovaná hra, která funguje solidně ve dvou hráčích a s navyšujícím se počtem hráčů je jedině zajímavější. Je velmi jednoduchá na pochopení a proto výborná pro začátečníky. Zároveň však nabízí dobré možnosti pro taktizování a tak si ji užijí i zkušenější hráči. Kvalita komponentů je dobrá avšak je škoda, že postavičky dobrodruhů, které najímáte na plnění úkolů, jsou prezentovány ve formě kostiček. Jednodušší komponenty se samozřejmě také odráží na ceně, díky které je LoW dobrá koupě - získate velmi kvalitní hru za poměrně levnou cenu. Znát tématiku hry není nutné, každopádně pokud jste fanouškem Forgotten Realms tak je to pro vás jedině plus.

The component quality is a bit disappointing, as the cards are thin. Instead of colored cubes representing heroes, they could have at least used wooden tokens shaped like swords, books, etc. Even the gem tokens could have been replaced with plastic equivalents.

Otherwise, the game offers plenty of strategic options, light bluffing, and a bit of take-that, all of which shine best with a higher player count. The rules are simple and easy to explain.

Krabice je o něco větší než ostatní hry, ale odměnou je perfektní insert, kde má všechno svoje místečko. Horší je to s kvalitou komponent, karty jsou tenké. Místo barevných kostiček, které představují hrdiny mohly být minimálně použity dřevěné žetony ve tvaru meče, knížky,atd. Nakonec i žetony drahokamů mohly být nahrazeny plastovým ekvivalentem. Jinak ale hra skýtá spoustu strategickým možností, lehké možnosti blafování a trošku škození, všechno toto vynikne hlavně ve větším počtu hráčů. Pravidla jsou jednoduchá a rychle vysvětlitelná
