The card-based building game Limes is inspired by Cities, but instead of a city, you are creating an ancient landscape in a Roman province. At first glance, the game resembles Carcassonne. Players place fields, bodies of water, forests, and rocks, assigning them to their farmers, fishermen, woodcutters, and guards, who earn victory points at the end of the game based on the value of the given area.

Unlike Carcassonne, Limes can be played solo, and it will also be appreciated by fans of puzzles and brain teasers. By combining multiple game sets, Limes can be played by 4 or more players. The game offers various gameplay variants.
