‼️Which fantasy adventure captured your imagination lately?‼️

🐺The third Lone Wolf adventure continues and, in a way, concludes here. If you don't want to continue after reading it, that's fine. But I wouldn't stop, as evil isn't fully defeated yet.

🐺In this third installment, Lone Wolf travels to Durenor to seek allies in the fight against Zagarna. The journey is incredibly dangerous and, above all, tragic. He gains many companions along the way, only to lose them all, as war brings nothing but death.

🐺Many events in this book both saddened and surprised me. It turns out death truly doesn't discriminate. Despite the book's small format and thin size, it doesn't read as quickly as you might expect.

🐺The plot is full of danger, monsters, and magic—though a different kind than we're used to. It isn't omnipotent; everything has its limits and a price to pay. It's a gritty, raw fantasy adventure.

🐺Don't look for love or romance here. It's the type of book that focuses more on contemplation and dialogue than grand heroic deeds, which is also reflected in the final battle, which felt a bit rushed given the rest of the story.

🐺If the story grabs you, I recommend checking out the gamebooks, where you can become the hero yourself and take matters and decisions into your own hands.

‼️Aká dobrodružná fantasy si vás naposledy získala?‼️

🐺Tretie dobrodružstvo Osamelého vlka pokračuje a týmto dielom sa aj zdanlivo končí. Ak by ste teda po jej prečítaní nechceli ďalej pokračovať, nebude to prekážať. No ja by som to nerobila, nakoľko zlo nie je celkom porazené.

🐺V tretej časti Osamelý vlk cestuje do Durenoru, aby získal spojencov v boji proti Zagarnovi. Cesta je to veľmi nebezpečná a hlavne smutná. Získa na nej veľa spoločníkov, ale nakoniec o každého z nich príde, pretože vojna so sebou prináša len smrť.

🐺Množstvo udalostí, ktoré sa v tejto časti odohrali, ma zarmútilo aj prekvapilo. Ukázalo sa, že smrť si skutočne nevyberá. Napriek maličkému formátu knihy a jej malej hrúbke sa kniha nečíta tak rýchlo, ako sa môže zdať.

🐺Dej je plný nebezpečenstva, monštier a mágie, ktorá je však trochu iná, než na akú sme zvyknutí. Nie je všemocná a všetko má svoje hranice, aj cenu, ktorú si žiada na oplátku. Je to dobrodružný fantasy príbeh, drsný a bez príkras.

🐺Lásku ani romantiku v ňom nehľadajte. Je to tak trochu ten typ knihy, v ktorej nájdete viac úvah a dialógov než skutočne veľké činy, o čom hovorí aj záverečná vojna, ktorá bola tak trochu unáhlená vzhľadom na celý dej.

🐺Ak by vás príbeh oslovil, odporúčam siahnuť aj po game bookoch, v ktorých sa sami môžete stať hrdinom a vziať veci a rozhodnutia do vlastných rúk.

REVIEW - The Dark Door - John Grant & Joe Dever

‼️Who is your favorite wizard?‼️

🔥The previous introductory volume was a bit slower and weaker, but it's clear that the story has picked up beautifully in the second installment. The paths of the main characters have diverged, and the story has taken a dark turn.

🔥This is truly gritty fantasy in the style of The Witcher. While the first part was relatively calm, this one is packed with constant action, and you are never safe. The danger escalates with every chapter, and the plot grows increasingly dark.

🔥The protagonists are young, but what they have endured and experienced firsthand has changed them and forced them to grow up prematurely. Things they once considered trivial and unworthy of their time have become the foundation of their survival. They are driven by a desire for revenge, justice, and a better world they could create if they manage to destroy the evil that has taken over Magnamund.

🔥It is an adventure fantasy worthy of the name, as the characters face numerous challenges, encounters, and circumstances that test their skills and judgment. At the same time, it is full of magic, dark creatures, and mages locked in ruthless duels.

🔥The entire plot and its direction are essentially just beginning and expanding, with new characters and tasks appearing that the heroes must face. And if you fall in love with this world, I recommend picking up the gamebooks, where you can try being the hero yourself and experience what it's like to make decisions that can save the world.

‼️Aký čarodejník je váš obľúbený?‼️

🔥Predchádzajúci úvodný diel bol trochu pomalší a slabší, ale v druhom diele je jasné, že sa príbeh krásne rozbehol. Cesty hlavných hrdinov sa rozišli každý vlastným smerom a príbeh v tej chvíli nabral temný spád.

🔥Je to skutočne drsná fantasy v štýle Zaklínača. Zatiaľ čo prvá časť bola relatívne pokojná, v tejto časti sa neustále niečo deje a nikdy nie ste v bezpečí. Každou kapitolou sa nebezpečenstvo zvyšuje a dej je čoraz temnejší.

🔥Hlavní hrdinovia sú mladí, ale to, čím si prešli a čo zažili na vlastnej koži, ich zmenilo a prinútilo predčasne dospieť. To, čo predtým považovali za banality nehodné ich času, sa stalo základom ich prežitia. Ženie ich túžba po pomste, spravodlivosti a po lepšom svete, ktorý by mohli vytvoriť, ak sa im podarí zničiť zlo, ktoré ovládlo Magnamund.

🔥Je to dobrodružná fantasy hodná tohto označenia, pretože postavy čelia skutočne mnohým výzvam, stretnutiam a okolnostiam, ktoré preverujú ich schopnosti a uvažovanie. Zároveň je v nej hodne mágie, temných tvorov a mágov, ktorí medzi sebou zvádzajú neľútostné súboje.

🔥Celý dej a jeho smerovanie sa v podstate ešte len začína a rozrastá, pribúdajú nové postavy a úlohy, ktorým musia hrdinovia čeliť. A ak sa vám tento svet zapáči, odporúčam siahnuť po gamebookoch, kde si môžete vyskúšať byť hrdinami vy samy a okúsiť, aké to je, činiť rozhodnutia, ktoré môžu zachrániť svet.

REVIEW - Eclipse of the Kai - Joe Dever and John Grant

‼️How do you feel about stories where good and evil are the central themes?‼️

🗡This was a somewhat unconventional story for me. It’s not an action-packed epic, but rather heroic fantasy set in an age of sorcerers who wield magical power on behalf of the gods.

🗡It is the first volume about Lone Wolf, known from the world of gamebooks. This series covers his beginnings in the monastery, where he trained to one day become a member of the Kai Order—fighting against the forces of darkness.

🗡Since it’s the first book, don’t expect anything grand right from the start. It contains a vast amount of information about the world, the pantheon of gods, the balance of good and evil, and, of course, it captures the beginning of the war and the prophecy. Lone Wolf is just a boy here, yet he has already endured immense tragedies for his young age, which have shaped him significantly.

🗡The book tells the story of a dark servant and sorcerer who defied his order, betrayed it, and sold his soul to evil. In some ways, it reminds me of The Lord of the Rings—a dark lord leading millions of cruel and hideous monsters against the forces of good, which are fading from the world.

🗡It’s a small, slim book, but given the amount of information it contains, it’s a bit more demanding to read. I recommend buying the map of Magnamund for better orientation in the territory. I don't have it, and I could certainly use it.

🗡The writing style is a bit peculiar, reminiscent of epics, which might not be for everyone. If you didn't like The Lord of the Rings or Beowulf, this won't be your cup of tea. The first part lacks action and tension, so if those are elements you must have in your books, this one might not be for you either.

🗡The plot follows multiple storylines simultaneously that converge at the end. Everything is clear and easy to follow; there isn't too much information at once, but you do need to pay attention while reading. As a fan of traditional fantasy, it’s a good entry into this world for me, and I’m looking forward to the next installment.

RECENZIA - Stíny nad řádem Kai - Joe Dever a John Grant

‼️Čo vy a príbehy, v ktorých dobro a zlo vystupujú ako ústredná myšlienka príbehu?‼️

🗡Toto bol pre mňa trochu netradičný príbeh. Nejedná sa o nijaké akciou nabité veľkolepé dielo, ale skôr sa jedná o hrdinskú fantasy z doby čarodejov, ktorí vládnu na zemi magickou mocou v mene bohov.

🗡Ide o prvý diel o Osamelom vlkovi (Lone Wolfovi), ktorý je známy zo sveta gamebookových kníh. Táto séria pojednáva o jeho začiatkoch v kláštore, kde sa učil, aby sa jedného dňa stal členom bratstva Kai - bojujúcim proti temným silám.

🗡Je to prvá kniha, preto nečakajte na začiatok nič veľkolepé. Obsahuje veľmi veľké množstvo informácií o celom svete, o panteone bohov, rozložení síl dobra a zla a samozrejme zachytáva začiatok vojny a veštbu. Osamelý vlk je tu iba chlapcom, ktorý si na svoj mladý vek prešiel obrovskými tragédiami, ktoré ho do veľkej miery formovali.

🗡Kniha pojednáva o temnom služobníkovi a čarodejovi, ktorý sa vzoprel svojmu rádu, zradil ho a zapredal svoju dušu zlu. V niektorých ohľadoch mi to pripomína Pána prsteňov - temný pán na čele s miliónmi krutých a nechutných príšer a proti tomu sila dobra, ktorá sa zo sveta vytráca.

🗡Je to malá útla knižka, ale vzhľadom na to množstvo informácii, ktoré obsahuje, sa číta trochu náročnejšie. Odporúčam si kúpiť aj mapu Magnamundu pre lepšiu orientáciu na území krajiny. Ja ju nemám a veru by sa mi hodila.

🗡Štýl písania je trochu zvláštny, pripomínajúci eposy a to nemusí sadnúť každému. Ak sa vám Pán prsteňov alebo Beowulf nepáčili, toto nebude vaša šálka kávy. Prvá časť tak trochu postráda akciu a napätie, takže ak sú to prvky, ktoré vám v knihách nesmú chýbať, opäť vám kniha nemusí sadnúť.

🗡Dej zachytáva viac dejových línii súčasne, ktoré sa v závere spoja. Všetko je zrozumiteľné a ľahko pochopiteľné, informácii nie je naraz veľa, ale je potrebné dávať pri čítaní pozor. Ako fanúšik tradičných fantasy je to pre mňa dobrý vstup do tohto sveta a teším sa na ďalší diel.

Diky moc… že jsem se mohl vrátit zpět do dětských let bez internetu mobilu atd. Lidská představivost je ta nejlepší hra na světě mějte se hezky a diky ještě jednou. Přidávám fotku své sbirky.

As a fan of the Lone Wolf gamebook series myself, I think this is awesome.

The first volume describes the creation of the world, the deities, the Darklords, and more, helping the reader get acquainted with Lone Wolf's world. This information is woven into the plot gradually, making it easy to digest. The book features several storylines that introduce you not only to Lone Wolf, but also to Benedon, an apprentice of the Brotherhood of the Crystal Star, as well as the demigoddess Alyss, who influences the actions of all the main characters to some extent, and the rebellious sorcerer Vonotar, who defected from the Brotherhood and joined forces with the Darklord Zagarna.

The story ends just as Lone Wolf meets Benedon. For me, this means I'll be diving into the second volume of the Legends of Lone Wolf series before moving on to the second gamebook.

Pro fanoušky gamebooků ze série Lone Wolf, za kterého se pokládám i já, super.

V prvním díle je popisován vznik světa, božstva, temných pánů a podobně aby se čtenář seznámil se světem Osamělého Vlka, tyto informace jsou vkládány postupně do děje, takže jsou lehce stravitelné. Kniha má několik dějových linek které čtenáře seznámí nejen s Osamělým Vlkem, ale i s tovaryšem Bratrstva Křišťálové hvězdy s Benedonem, dále s polobohyní Alyss, která do jisté míry ovlivňuje jednání všech hlavních postav a stejně tak vzpurného čaroděje Vonotara, který zběhl od bratrstva a spojil své síly s Temným pánem Zagarnou.

Děj knihy končí v době kdy se Osamělý Vlk potkává s Benedonem, pro mne to znamená, že se ještě pustím do druhého dílu Ledend o Lone Wolfovi a až poté do druhého dílu Gamebooku.

The longest Lone Wolf book yet. A pretty decent story. It even came with its own bookmark.

Zatím nejdelší knížka z Lone Wolfa. Celkem fajn příběh. Přišla i s vlastní záložkou.
