Leaf Cloak Brooch

A beautiful brooch that has been serving me for a long time. Expertly forged. It holds my cloak perfectly in place. The shop even mentioned that it requires proper maintenance and might stain clothing, but I haven't had any issues with that. I haven't even oiled it yet (and I've had it for a few years now), yet it still works great.

Spona krásná, již slouží delší dobu. Skvěle ukovaná. Plášť drží na místě bez chybičky. Dokonce i zdejší obchod psal, že je dobrá údržba a může zašpinit oblečení, ale já s tím nikdo problém neměl. Zatím jsem ji nikterak nenamazal (a to ji už pár let mám) a přesto slouží skvěle.

It arrived today and I have to admit it looks very tasteful. I think it will serve well at events and look much better than ribbons or laces. I would just like to ask if it requires any maintenance, like oiling, etc. I wouldn't want it to rust or get damaged after the first event because of me.

Fantasyobchod: Oiling definitely won't hurt in this case, but be careful about staining the clothing you're wearing the buckle on.

Dnes mi přišla a musím uznat, že vypadá velmi vkusně. Myslím, že na akcích velmi dobře poslouží a bude vypadat lépe než tkalounky a tkanice. Jen bych se rád otázal, zda-li je zapotřebí nějaká údržba. Myslím i mázání atd. Nerad bych, aby mou vinnou po první akci zarezla či se jinak poškodila.

Fantasyobchod: mazání v tomto případě určitě nebude na škodu, pozor ale na ušpinění oděvu, na němž je spona nošena.

Bought this week and already tested. It came heavily coated in anti-corrosion oil, so I had to wipe it down before use to avoid staining my cloak. I was a bit disappointed with the pin; it looks like a large nail with the head cut off so it could be bent around the frame. The pin doesn't move very smoothly, and the tip wasn't filed down properly, so it kept snagging threads. However, after a little DIY fix on both pieces (I bought two, and both had the same minor flaws), everything is fine now. The brooch looks nice and is perfect for a LARP costume. That said, the “Large Elegant Brooch” I picked up a week earlier is definitely better crafted (though it was also over 100 CZK more expensive than this leaf brooch).

Zakoupená tento týden, ale už vyzkoušená. Byla důkladně konzervována nějakým prostředkem proti korozi, takže před použitím bylo nutné ji otřít, aby nedělala skvrny na plášti. Trocha zklamání byla z trnu spony, vypadá to, že velkému hřebíku byla ucviknutá hlavička, aby se dal ohnout kolem těla spony… Trn se navíc nepohybuje úplně hladce a špička nebyla dobře obroušena, takže chytala nitě. Nicméně po drobné úpravě obou kusů (brala jsem dva a u obou byly stejné drobné nedostatky) bylo vše Ok. Spona vypadá hezky, na kostým třeba na LARP stačí tak akorát. Nicméně “spona velká elegant”, kterou jsem vyzvedla o týden dřív, ve zpracování skutečně vede (ale taky byla o víc než 100,- dražší než spona s lístky :-)

A fancy little buckle for a reasonable price. There are some spots from the etching, but that can be fixed, and even if not, it looks authentic anyway. It looks great. Maximum satisfaction. Take the photo with a sense of humor. It’s not exactly easy to take a selfie with a sword in one hand and a brick like this in the other.

Luxusna sponečka za prijatelne platidlo, nejake fličky od leptani tam su, ale to sa spravi, a aj keby ne, tak to aspon vyzera verohodne, vyzera super. Spokojnost max. Fotku berte s humorom. Ono to neni uplne prdel vyfotit sa s mečom v ruke takovou cihlou.
