Foam swords combine detailed, visually appealing craftsmanship with technology designed for heavy use, inspired by historical blacksmithing. They are the ideal choice for LARP, fantasy battles, or cosplayers who demand safety and photorealism without compromising on looks.
Material and construction
Unlike classic latex weapons that require constant maintenance and are prone to "latex rot," these swords are made from highly durable PU foam (polyurethane).
Due to the manufacturing process, this foam weapon has a small hole on each side of the blade, which does not affect its functionality and is not a defect.
- Core: A sturdy fiberglass rod that ensures rigidity and prevents unwanted "whipping" during strikes.
- Surface: The foam is extremely resistant to tearing and abrasion. Unlike latex, it requires less frequent maintenance with silicone spray and is more stable in sunlight.
- Safety: The tip is internally reinforced (often with Kevlar or special fabric) to prevent the core from ever poking through. There is a 5 cm safety buffer between the end of the core and the tip of the blade.
Realistic look
Thanks to injection molding technology, these swords feature details that are hard to achieve with hand-carving. The hilts are anatomically shaped for a firm grip, and the blades have a realistic steel texture that adds credibility to your character.
Who are these swords for?
Thanks to their versatility and affordable price, they are a great choice for:
- Beginners: You get a "maintenance-free" weapon that will last you for years.
- NPCs and organizers: Due to their high durability, these swords can withstand constant lending and combat in any weather.
- Advanced fighters: The balance of Mytholon brand weapons is generally excellent, allowing for more technical fencing maneuvers.
Maintenance tip: Although PU foam swords are very durable, we recommend cleaning them of mud with a damp cloth after an event and occasionally treating them with silicone oil to maintain the flexibility and shine of the surface finish.
