Jim Kay is probably the main reason why people are still happy to buy a second set of Harry Potter books. His illustrations are more interesting than 90% of what the movies brought to the table. While The Philosopher's Stone and The Chamber of Secrets are still relatively child-friendly, The Prisoner of Azkaban starts to get darker, and the illustrations smoothly shift toward a spookier side.
Jim Kay je asi hlavní důvod proč si lidé ještě rádi koupí druhý set Harryho Pottera. Jeho ilustrace jsou zajímavější než 90% z toho, co přinesly filmy. Zatímco Kámen mudrců a Tajemná komnata jsou ještě poměrně child friendly, tak vězněn z Azkabanu už začíná přitahovat a ilustrace plynule kloužou spíš na strašidelnější stranu.
