Green Stuff World: Pure Metal Pigments Copper

+-2 other

Description

Green Stuff World: Pure Metal Pigments Copper is a powder pigment made from real metal. It gives your miniatures a high level of realism.

For application, we recommend mixing it with a small amount of medium (varnish, paint, or pigment fixer; Master Medium is particularly suitable). After application, you can polish it with a smooth object. By combining it with oxidation-accelerating products, you can create authentic oxidation effects. We recommend applying it to matte surfaces for better adhesion.

Add more colors to achieve different shades. Too much medium can weaken the metallic effect, but the right amount is suitable for airbrushing.

Bottle volume: 30ml.

Features and recommendations:

  • The pigments are non-toxic, but avoid inhaling the dust.
  • Due to the high density of the pigment, it may look like there is less inside when you open the bottle - shake the bottle before use to decompress the pigment to its full volume.
  • Keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dry place to prevent oxidation.
  • Once coated or sealed with a medium (including acrylic), the pigment will not rust.

I've been using these pigments for a while now. Specifically, Antique Gold on my Stormcast Eternals—check out most of the armor surface in the photo. I used the Pure Metal Pigment Copper for the decorative armor collars; they complement each other perfectly.

The pigment comes as a powder, so you need to mix it into paint yourself. I don't have GSW's Master Medium, so I use Vallejo Gloss Varnish mixed with water (50/50). I've never achieved such brilliantly shiny colors with standard miniature paints before. And I have a decent collection of Army Painter, Games Workshop, and Vallejo Game Color paints.
I tried pre-mixing the paint, but I don't recommend it. After a while, the varnish reacted with the pigment and turned into unusable sludge that I couldn't even clean out of the bottle—the whole thing went straight into the trash.
A dry palette is ideal for mixing (or even that plastic insert from a box of chocolates—the one from Toffifee is perfect :).
One pigment pot will last you for about 5 armies, and unlike standard paint, it never dries out ;) So, it's all pros. Just don't spill it, or you'll have shiny flakes everywhere...
Highly recommended!
