Description
Gotrek Gurnisson: Blightslayer is a story about the legendary dwarven Slayer from the Warhammer: Age of Sigmar fantasy world.
The book is in English.
Gotrek Gurnisson, the legendary Slayer, picks up a new accomplice – and faces a truly grotesque challenge in the disease-ridden spawn of the Plague God himself.
Deep in the wilds of Ghyran, a former warrior priest preaches for humanity to reject the gods. The sole survivor of a massacred Dawnbringer Crusade, Amara Fidellus believes that Sigmar has betrayed her. But when she faces execution for such blasphemy, it’s only the intervention of a drunken, taciturn and incredibly violent duardin that saves her life. Now bound to Gotrek Gurnisson by this life-debt, Amara finds herself caught up in his quest for revenge. But as they become aware of a sorcerous threat building on the far Rocanian Coast, Gotrek and Amara must put aside their own needs for vengeance to confront a terrible danger that could plunge all of Ghyran into Chaos, and see a deadly aspect of Nurgle’s Garden manifest in the Mortal Realms.

Another book in the Gotrek series. Blightslayer is a fantastic book on its own and a great addition to the Gotrek saga (if you don't know it or are just starting, I definitely recommend W. King's books). Like other books in this series, I'm fascinated by the imagination used to create the various locations in this fantasy world. Frontier settlements protected by the dried stalks of giant flowers? A city hidden inside a giant pinecone? Birds the size of whales feeding on swarms of insects miles wide? Gotrek mocks all this ingenuity: ("Let me guess, does the whole place walk on chicken legs, or was it built on the back of a giant armadillo or something equally stupid.")
I enjoyed the story itself, it's definitely one of the better books (and there have been many), but there's only one W. King.
Další ze série knih o Gotrekovi. Blightslayer je sama o sobě fantastická kniha a skvělý doplněk k sérii Gotrek (pokud neznáte/začínáte pak jednoznačně doporučuji knihy W. Kinga).
