Expedition Congo River 1884
Description
In 1884, the major European imperial powers—Great Britain, France, Germany, and Belgium—sought to carve out the largest possible slice of colonial Africa. Initially, they sent out exploration missions, but this quickly turned into a race for favorable concessions, treaties, and the establishment of settlements. This race for dominance and the desire to be first sparked an endless series of confrontations and conflicts across Africa.
In the game Expedition Congo River 1884, you set off by steamboat from Leopoldville (modern-day Kinshasa) and sail along the Congo River to the remote village of Kindu, located in the deepest heart of Africa. While the passengers on board the steamboat come from many different nationalities and professions, they all share the same spirit of adventure. Each player controls a group of these individuals and competes against their rivals to take command of colonial stations (established at various steamboat stops). Players earn victory points for every station under their control. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
The game is in English.
