Empire Engine is set in a dystopian Europe in 1888. Four empires compete for a device that would provide them with a source of infinite energy.

In each round, you must decide whether to attack your neighbors, defend yourself, hoard resources (goods for export, soldiers for combat, and inventions), or export. Players choose their actions simultaneously, making the game perfect for bluffing. The winner is the player who earns the most points for their goods, soldiers, and inventions.
