D&D Miniatures: Icons of the Realms - Boneyard

This set is great because there aren't any truly 'bad' figures in it (considering what I expect). I didn't get the ones I was hoping for again, but they look nice and I'll definitely use them in D&D when the opportunity arises.

Tenhle set je fajn, ze v nem nejsou vylozene 'spatne' figurky (v ramci toho co ocekavam). Sice jsem opet nedostal ty, ve ktere jsem doufal, ale jsou pekne a v DnD je urcite pouziji, kdyz bude prilezitost

The 18th series is priceless when it comes to the detail and scale of the miniatures! It's a must-have for anyone who needs undead. :)

18. řada (Set-série) je zpracováním detailů a velikostí figurek k nezaplacení! Určitě využije každý, kde je potřeba nemrtvý :)

I've had the D&D Icons of the Realms Miniatures: Boneyard set since last May, when I picked up a sealed brick of eight. The box is large enough to fit Huge-sized miniatures. This set is heavily themed, containing almost exclusively undead creatures. The few exceptions include two Ooze monsters: a Huge Elder Black Pudding (back right in the photo) and a Large yellow Ochre Jelly (just to its left). The third exception, in the back left, is the Juvenile Kraken—a younger version of the legendary monster, of which I pulled two. The fourth non-undead figure is the centipede-like aberration, the Carrion Crawler, which I consider one of the most beautiful D&D miniatures ever made (though the older, same-sized version from Rage of Demons is also stunning). Among the undead, I found five really nice skeletons (surrounded by the aforementioned figures in the photo). These include a gnome skeleton, a dwarf with an axe, a human archer, a rearing warhorse with harness, and a Huge hill giant. Just in front of them are two mummies: a standard one on the right and a Rare Mummy Lord in the form of a pharaoh on the left. The set also included zombies (in front of the Krakens), specifically a large Ogre zombie, an elf with a sword, and a massive human with an axe. Further forward, you can see a specific worm-covered zombie variant called a Spawn of Kyuss. Even further forward are two ghouls (clutching a severed arm) and one ghast (with a long, lolling tongue). The ghast looks better than its older version from Monster Menagerie 2, and the ghouls are among the best-looking representations of this creature in the D&D miniature line. To the right in the front, you can see an exceptionally well-sculpted Wraith, a Dread Warrior (a specific undead variant made from warriors), a Phantom Warrior (a revenant warrior who returned to complete an unfinished task), a male ghost (a counterpart to the female ghost from Monster Menagerie 1), a Sword Wraith Warrior (an undead risen from battle-hungry mercenaries), and in front of them, a Poltergeist, whose presence is only betrayed by a toppling table. Further to the right in the front stands a Rare Death Knight—beautifully crafted—alongside a female vampire sorceress (who appears to be a tiefling) and a Vampire Spawn. The Death Slaad, an undead grey aberration to the right of the ogre, is also worth mentioning. The last figures I pulled were Drowned Assassins, aquatic undead (two pieces behind the vampire). I wasn't lucky enough to pull the most valuable figures, including the coveted undead Tyrannosaurus. While the miniatures themselves pleased me, I did experience some disappointment. According to general references, a brick should contain 3 Rare figures (sometimes even 4), but this one exceptionally contained only two. That said, the figures themselves are beautiful and highly detailed—I dare say most are of a higher quality than in previous sets. The painting doesn't seem rushed, though three figures were leaning: both Spawns of Kyuss were leaning in opposite directions, which didn't bother me much and actually seemed almost funny. The third was, unfortunately, the skeletal hill giant (though the camera angle hides it well). The Sword Wraith Warrior had a partially scuffed face, which I think is still tolerable. Ultimately, I'm happy with the figures I got, and this purchase has sparked my interest in buying more from this product line.

DD Icons of the Realms Miniatures: Boneyard mám již od loňského května, pořídil jsem si zatavený brick po osmi kusech. Krabička je rozměrů umožňující vložení figurek velikosti Huge. Tento set je výrazně monotematický, jelikož obsahuje figurky představující různé nemrtvé bytosti, až na několik málo výjimek. K těm patřily dvě slizová Ooze monstra, a to Huge Elder Black Pudding (na fotce vpravo vzadu) a Large žlutý Ochre Jelly (hned nalevo od předešlého). Tou třetí je zcela vlevo vzadu monstrózita Juvenile Kraken, nedospělá verze tohoto legendárního monstra, a to hned ve dvou exemplářích. Čtvrtou figurkou nikoli nemrtvého je stonožce podobná aberace Carrion crawler, kterou jsem ocenil jako jednu z nejkrásnějších figurek DnD obecně (třebaže stejně velká starší verze z Rage of Demons je také velice krásná). Mezi nemrtvými monstry jsem v boostrech nalezl celkem pět opravdu pěkných kostlivců (na fotce jsou obklopeny výše zmíněnými figurkami). Jedná se o kostry gnóma, trpaslíka se sekyrou, lidského lukostřelce, vzpínajícího se válečného oře s postrojem a kopcového obra velikosti Huge. Kus před nimi jsou umístěn dvě mumie, vpravo obyčejná a vlevo Mummy Lord v podobě faraona, četnost Rare. Mezi figurkami byly i zombie, (na fotce před Krakeny), jmenovitě velká zombie Ogra, elfa s mečem a mohutného člověka se sekyrou, kus více vpředu se potácejí figurky znázorňující specifickou variantu červy pokryté zombie zvanou Spawn of Kyuss, Ještě více vpředu jsou vidět dva ghoulové (svírající utrženou ruku) a jeden ghast (s dlouhým vyplazeným jazykem). Ghast je pěknější než jeho starší verze z Monster Menagerie 2, ghoulové také patří k nejhezčím zpodobněním této potvory v rámci figurek k DnD obecně. Napravo od nich vepředu na fotce jsou k vidění mimořádně pečlivě tvarovaný Wraith (přízrak), Dread Warrior (specifická varianta nemrtvých dělaná z válečníků), Phantom Warror (revenant válečníka co vrátil vykonat nesplněný úkol), duch muže (protějšek k duchu ženy z Monster menagerie 1), Sword Wraith Warrior (nemrtvý povstalý z bojechtivých žoldáků) a vpředu před nimi Poltergeist, jehož přítomnost dosvědčuje pouze kácející se stolek. Ještě více napravo vepředu stojí fígurka mocného nemrtvého Death Knight četnosti rare, krásně propracovaná, dále upírka čarodějka (dle vzhledu vzniklá z tieflinga) a upíří zplozenec (Vampire Spawn). Zmínku si zaslouží i Death slaad, nemrtvá šedivá aberace napravo od ogra. Poslední získanou figurkou je Drowned Assasin, podvodní nemrtvý z utopence (dva kusy za upírem). Neměl jsem štěstí na nejcennější figurky, včetně vytouženého nemrtvého tyranosaura. Třebaže samotné figurky mě dosti potěšily, zažil jsem jisté zklamání. V bricku by měly být podle obecně dostupných referencí 3 figurky s četností rare (vzácně prý i 4), v tomto byly výjimečně ale pouze dvě. Samotné figurky jsou přitom co se týče úrovně zpodobnění nestvůr velmi krásné a detailní, troufám si říci že většina z nich je na vyšší úrovni než v předešlých setech. Barvení zdá se odbyto nebylo, nicméně hned tři figurky se potácely, a to oba Spawn of Kyuss, každý na jinou stranu, což mi v tomto případě nepřišlo příliš rušivě, ba v konečném výsledku skoro vtipné. Tou třetí je bohužel kostlivý kopcový gigant (díky úhlu focení to nepůsobí rušivě). Sword Wraith Warrior měl obličej na jedné straně částečně odřený, což se ale také myslím ještě dá tolerovat. Ze získaných figurek byla nakonec radost a tento nákup probudil ve mě zájem o další koupi toho produktu.
