D&D Miniatures: Icons of the Realms - The Wild Beyond the Witchlight

The figures are very nice and well-painted, but a bit smaller compared to other figures from the Nolzur collection. I would recommend them for completing a collection, but for regular gaming, I'd suggest other sets with a better price-to-quantity ratio. The quantity stated on the packaging is quite misleading—it lists 3 small and 1 large miniature. In my set, I got 5 small ones (or rather, 4 small ones and 1 unicorn horn). Generally, I would prefer large miniatures over small ones, but the quantity compensation isn't bad—though the horn is a letdown, as I wanted a figure rather than a prop.

Figurky moc pěkné, hezky vybarvené, ale trochu menší v porovnání s jinými figurkami z Nolzur kolekce. Pro doplnění kolekce bych doporučil, ale pro pravidelnější hraní bych spíše doporučil jiné sady s lepším poměrem cena/množství. Celkem zavádějící je množství na obalu - uvádí 3 malé a jedna velká miniatura. Já v mé sadě měl 5 malých (respektive 4 malé a 1 jeden roh jednorožce). Obecně bych uvítal i velké miniatury na úkor malých, ale kompenzace množstvím není zlá - akorát ten roh mě mrzí, chtěl jsem spíše figurku než rekvizitu.

I’ve had The Wild Beyond the Witchlight for over two months now. This set is monothematic, consisting almost exclusively of creatures tied to the Feywild, the realm of faeries and mythical beings. Unlike previous sets, boosters sometimes contain 5 figures instead of 4, which seems to be a deliberate manufacturer choice. I can confirm this from two of my boosters, though they contained more tiny-sized figures. In the attached photo, you can see two (or three) quite creepy Rare figures in the very back. On the left is the Jabberwock, a dragon-like monster inspired by the Jabberwocky from Alice in Wonderland, and the most valuable figure in the set. To its right is one of the three legendary hags from this series—in this case, the undead Endelyn Moongrave on her mechanical bird mount (as a whole, just as valuable as the previous one). It’s the first mounted monster in a long time to be composed of two detachable figures within the icons boosters. To their left is a giant snail, and in front of them stands a troll with a club, though it’s less imposing than the version from Rage of Demons. A bit in front of the Troll is the seventh large figure, a giant dragonfly, which is paradoxically smaller than the spatially prominent medium-sized Peryton monstrosity (looking like a cross between a bird and a deer, and better-looking than the Elemental Evil variant). Further to the right in the front is a pair of identical, twisted Fomorian giants; this version has a more aggressive stance than the "casual" variant from Snowbound, but it’s still noticeably smaller than the older version of this monster from the Giants of Legends D&D Miniatures cycle. Instead of an eighth large figure, my brick contained a collector's item—a unicorn horn (right in the front)—much to my disappointment (I wanted figures). Right in front of the giants are two pixies and one sprite (winged faeries). To their left, the Grell aberration, which looks like a brain with tentacles, ripples; it’s more dynamic than the more highly-valued version from Rage of Demons. Further to the left are the elven acrobats Glister and Gleam, and right in front of them are Willi, Bobby, and the blue Displacement Beast cub named Star (these are characters from the published The Wild Beyond the Witchlight adventure). To their left stands an adult Myconid resembling a red toadstool, quite different from the Snowbound version. To the left of the Peryton is the third (or fourth) rare figure, Jingle Jangle, a goblin-like Fey creature. Right in front of it, a pair of mushrooms catches the eye, laughing as if they were under the influence; these are the Camperesti, the singing mushrooms. Further to the right is a small Fey killer with a sickle in a red cap—a Red Cap—quite similar to the Tomb of Annihilation variant, followed by a Feywild Goblin resembling a city guard, and a Bullywug Knight, a humanoid frog dressed like a courtier. In front of them are two Clapperclaws, a construct variant—a scarecrow with claws and a swappable head (deer skull or pumpkin). To their left is a small, white-haired, blue-skinned Quickling (also Fey) and a humanoid rabbit-like Harengon (also a Feywild creature); unfortunately, this last figure was broken off its base, along with a piece of its leg (see photo). In front of the horn stands the broom-like tiny monstrosity Sqirt, followed by a Darkling, a small Fey creature with hooves in a black cloak. Further to the right are two specimens of the mustachioed Fey creature, the Brigannock Miner with a pickaxe, and the player-favorite Chucklehead, looking like a goblin with a pumpkin for a head. I’m quite pleased with the figures, and even though there still aren't enough to play the original adventure, they are a welcome addition to my collection. So, I'm satisfied.

The Wild Beyond the Witchlight mám už více než dva měsíce. Tato série je monotématická, takřka výhradně obsahuje figurky bytostí spjatých s Feywildem, světem víl a pohádkových tvorů. Oproti dřívějšku se v boostrech někdy vyskytuje 5 a ne jen 4 figurky, vzhledem k četnosti zřejmě záměr výrobce. Já to mohu potvrdit ve dvou boostrech, kde ale bylo více drobných figurek (velikost tiny). Na připojené fotce jsou k vidění úplně vzadu dvě (tři) dosti strašidelné figurky četnosti Rare. Vlevo je dračí monstrum Jabberwock inspirovaný Jabberwocky z Alenky v říši divů (v českém překladu Žvahlav či Tlachapoud), nejcennější figurka série. Napravo od něj je jedna ze tří legendárních babic (Hag) z této série, v tomto případě se jedná o nemrtvou Endelyn Moongrave na jejím mechanickém ptačím oři (jako celek stejně cenné jako předešlý). Jedná se po delší době o další jízdní monstrum složené ze dvou oddělitelných figurek v rámci boostrů icons Nalevo od nich je obří hlemýžď, před nimi stojí troll s kyjem, méně impozantní než verze z Rage of Demons. Kus před Trollem je sedmá velká figurka, obří vážka, paradoxně opticky menší než prostorově výrazná středně velká figurka monstrózity Peryton (vypadající jako kříženec ptáka a jelena, hezčí než varianta z Elemental Evil). Napravo více vpředu je pak dvojice stejných pokřivených obrů Fomorianů ), tato verze má bojovnější postoj než "ležérní" varianta ze Snowbond, ale i tak je znatelně menší než starší verze této nestvůry z Giants of Legends z cyklu DD MINIATURES. Místo osmé velké figurky byl v bricku sběratelský předmět, roh jednorožce (úplně vpředu), k mé dost velké neradosti (chtěl jsem figurky). Hned před obry jsou dvě pixie a jeden sprite (okřídlení skřítci), dále nalevo od nich se vlní aberace Grell podobná mozku s chapadly, dynamičtější než více ceněná verze z Rage of Demons. Ještě více vlevo jsou elfské akrobatky Glister a Gleam, a hned před nimi pak Willi, Bobby a modré mládě monstrozity Displacement Beast jménem Star (jedná se postavy k vydanému dobrodružství The Wild beyond the Witchlight) . Nalevo od nich stojí dospělý Mykonid podobný červené muchomůrce, dost odlišný od verze ze Snowbound. Nalevo od Perytona je třetí (respektive čtvrtá) rare figurka Jingle Jangle, goblinu podobné Fey stvoření, hned před ním upoutá pozornost dvojice hub, co se smějí, jako by byly pod vlivem; jsou to Camperesti, zpívající houby. Dál napravo je malý Fey zabiják se srpem v rudé čepičce Red Cap, dost podobný variantě z Tomb of Anihilation, dále pak Feywild Goblin připomínající městského gardistu a jako dvořan vyšňořená humanoidní žába Bullywug Knight. Před nimi jsou umístěni dva Clapperclaw, což je varianta konstruktu - strašáka s klepety a s vyměňovací hlavou (jelení lebka nebo tykev). Nalevo od nich je malý bělovlasý tvor modré pleti Quickling (také Fey) a humanoidnímu králiku podobný Harengon (také bytost z Feywildu), tato poslední figurka byla bohužel odlomená z podstavce i s kusem nohy (viz obrázek). Vpředu před rohem stojí košťátku podobná drobná monstrózita Sqirt, dále pak Darkling, malá Fey bytost s kopyty v černém plášti, více napravo od něj jsou pak dva exempláře kníratého Fey stvoření Brigannock Minnera s krumpáčem a také hráči ceněný Chucklehead vypadající jako goblin z tykví místo hlavy. Figurky mě celkem potěšily a i když jich na hru originálního dobrodružství pořád není dost, představují vítané obohacené mojí sbírky. Takže spokojenost.
