A truly massive campaign that easily rivals the classic Curse of Strahd in terms of quality. The fact that it takes place in the atmospheric landscape of Icewind Dale, known from the games, is just the icing on the cake.

Opravdu masivní kampaň, která se může, co se kvality týče, bez problémů potýkat i s klasikou Curse of Strahd. To, že se odehrává v atmosférické krajině Icewind Dale známé z her, je pomyslnou třešinkou na dortu.

A module from my favorite setting, the Sword Coast! The cover art is amazing, though the surface easily picks up dust and fingerprints. I've only skimmed the content so far, but it looks like a well-crafted, atmospheric open-world challenge for the Dungeon Master :D
The included map is great, similar to the one in Descent into Avernus. I can't wait to head out into the snowy plains of Icewind Dale with my party.

Modul z môjho obľúbeného prostredia Mečového Pobrežia! Art na obale je úžasný, len ten povrch ľahko berie prach a otlačky prstov. Obsah som zatiaľ len preletel ale vyzerá to ako podarená atmosferická open-world výzva pre dungeon mastra :D
Pribalená mapa je super, niečo ako v Descent into Avernus. Už sa neviem dočkať, kedy sa s partiou vydáme do zasnežených plání Icewind Dale.

This limited edition is truly beautifully crafted. Auril in all her glory :) I love this module more than I can say. I can't wait to start. I've had a special place in my heart for Icewind Dale ever since I played the PC games. I'm currently refreshing my memory by replaying the second one; it never gets old. The book also includes a map of the locations, which I really appreciated. The module is also great because it expands on the chapters and provides the DM with plenty of helpful details.

Limitovaná edice má vskutku překrásné zpracování. Auril v celé své kráse :) Modul se mi více než líbí. Už se nemohu dočkat, až začneme. Pro Icewind Dale mám prostě speciální místo v srdci už z dob hraní pc her. Zrovna si osvěžuji paměť s opětovným hraním dvojky, nikdy mě neomrzí. Kniha má uvnitř navíc i mapu jednotlivých lokací, což jsem více než uvítal. Modul je také skvělý tím, že dost rozepisuje kapitolu a pomáhá spousty detaily právě DMku.

Pervasive dangerous cold, darkness, biting wind, and the isolation of the Ten-Towns in the far north—all perfect elements for building atmosphere, a sense of danger, and even hopelessness. I can't judge how Rime of the Frostmaiden plays yet, but after reading through it, it looks very promising (I suspect it might even have the potential to rival my favorite, Curse of Strahd). Don't forget to pack warm socks, a song to ward off the blues, a ball, and head out into the frozen wastes.

Všude přítomná nebezpečná zima, tma a ostrý vítr, izolace desetiměstí na dalekém severu - to je spousta věcí k vybudování atmosféry a pocitu nebezpečí, třeba i beznaděje. Nemůžu zatím posoudit, jak se bude Rime of The Frosmaiden hrát, nicméně po přečtení vypadá velice slibně (tuším, že možná má i potenciál dotáhnout i mé oblíbené Curse of Strahd). Nezapomeňte přibalit teplé ponožky, píseň proti trudomyslnosti, míč a vyražte do ledových pustin.

Another adventure from the Forgotten Realms, this time set in the iconic Icewind Dale, known from both PC games and Drizzt novels. And Wizards of the Coast didn't hold back. This is one of the thickest adventure books released so far.

The book contains a wealth of history, topography, and geography of the region. Each of the Ten-Towns gets a comprehensive description. The limited edition cover is stunning, and you'll find a large fold-out map of the Dale at the back. So, bundle up and head to the far north for adventure.

Další dobrodružství ze světa Forgotten Realms, tentokrát odehrávající se na známé Planině ledového větru (Icewind Dale), kterou známe jak z PC her, tak z knih o Drizztovi. A Wizardi znovu na ničem nešetřili. Jedná se o jednu z nejtlustších knih dobrodružství, které zatím vyšly.

Obsahem knihy je kromě jiného bohatá historie, místopis a geografie Planiny. Každému z Desetiměstí je zde věnován obsáhlý popis. Vazba limitované edice je znovu nádherná a na konci knihy nalezneme velkou složenou mapu Planiny. Takže se stačí jenom pořádně obléci a vyrazit na daleký sever za dobrodružstvím.

Adventure read, but not yet played.

It looks great. As always, I'll tweak the story to my liking, but it serves as a solid foundation. For someone who grew up on stories from Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, it's pure nostalgia and a welcome return to those worlds.

The art on the limited edition cover is simply beautiful.

Dobrodružství pročtené, ještě zatím nehrané.

Vypadá velmi dobře, jako vždy si příběh upravím dle sebe, ale jako základ to vypadá velmi dobře. A pro člověka, který vyrostl na příbězích z Baldur's gate a Icewind Dale, tak je to prostě nostalgie a několikerý návrat zpět.

Art limitovaného přebalu, je prostě krásný.

Icewind Dale, oh, the place where I spent my time as a kid playing video games... and later through the books featuring Drizzt Do'Urden. Now, I'm heading back as a Dungeon Master with the help of this book, featuring stunning limited cover art, to make life a bit difficult for the heroes in our campaign.
The book provides an extensive description of Ten-Towns and its surroundings, featuring modular chapters that you can either string together into a full campaign or use as standalone adventures. Some chapters truly radiate the promised inspiration from the movie The Thing... I honestly can't wait to get this started :)

Planina Ledového větru, ach to místo kde jsem jako malý trávil čas v počítačových hrách.... kde jsem posléze trávil čas díky knihám s Drizzt do'Urdenem. Nyní se tam vrátím jako pán jeskyně za pomocí této knihy, s úchvatným limitovaným cover artem, a trochu znepříjemním život hrdinům z naší kampaně.
Kniha obsahuje rozsáhlý popis Desetiměstí a okolí a obsahuje modulární kapitoly, které buď můžete s hráči projít pospojovat do celé kampaně, nebo je použít samostatně. Z některých kapitol opravdu sálá avizovaná inspirace filmem The Thing.... no už se opravdu nemůžu dočkat až to rozjedeme :)
