People at imago: Eva „Ronne“ Lassler
In this interview, we introduce you to Eva „Ronne“ Lassler. Although she joined our marketing team recently, she has been circling around imago for a long time. What does she enjoy?
A freelance screenwriter, illustrator, writer, and copywriter. A Trekkie and fan of Star Wars. A player of Star Wars: The Old Republic, an occasional (pseudo)cosplayer, and a hobbyist prop-maker. A lover of game narratives and an eternal tragic figure when it comes to playing console games. A 3D printing beginner. A fan of game voice acting and a founding organizer of the Fantastická Ostrava festival. That is quite a long list of words to describe one of the newest additions to our marketing team, Eva „Ronne“ Lassler.
How did you get to imago?
With the help of a colleague who has been working at imago for a very long time. Back then, we were looking for a publisher to release our book Karbonové město, and the only one who agreed was Mytago. That’s how I got into the wider circle. Later, my husband started working at imago after leaving the hospitality industry during Covid. He now works in shipping. Until July 2023, I helped out with various videos, festivals, and occasionally wrote something for the blog. But then my employer at the time said “bye-bye.” I wrote to the owner of imago. He, along with my current colleagues, agreed that I could be an asset to the company. And so, here I am.
What is it like working with your husband in the same company?
We are professionals. If we exchange ten sentences during work hours, that’s a lot. Working with your partner in the same company isn't as complicated as it might seem.
You call yourself Ronne. Why that nickname?
I’ve been going to cons since 2005, and this community operates more on nicknames than real names. I needed one too. :) I came up with the nickname Ronne (pronounced Rony) unexpectedly. I remember it quite clearly. I was about 16. Early in the morning, I had one of those pseudo-dreams (daydreams) about Star Wars. In that dream, I was a young Padawan, and Obi-Wan addressed me as Ronne. So it stuck with me. It was an epiphany. Magical, right? :D
You are a member of the marketing team. What does your job entail?
First and foremost, social media. Copywriting, the occasional sale at a festival. I collaborate on videos, photos, and tutorials. I also have training and certificates from my previous job, so I can share some soft-skills knowledge. And that’s what I like about the work. It’s never the same, and if I can help out somewhere and learn something new in the process, I won’t say no. I also work within Mytago. It might seem like a classic case of nepotism because Mytago has already published two of my books. But that’s not the case. First came the book Karbonové město, and only then did a closer collaboration “from the other side” emerge. I feel that the trust the publisher places in me needs to be reciprocated.

You have quite a long list of leisure activities. How do you manage it all?
I used to train people in time management and task prioritization. :D A lot of those training hours sink under your skin, and you start to consider them your own. I am a very organized person at work. Just don’t look into my clothes drawer. When there’s order in one place, chaos must inevitably arise somewhere else!
You do cosplay. Which of your costumes is your favorite?
I prefer to call myself a “costume wearer.” I dabble in cosplay, but I don’t consider myself a cosplayer. I don’t compete, nor do I plan to. I don’t have a private photographer. :D Anyway, if I have to choose, it’s Alliance Commander (Mandalorian), Yennefer, and Cara Dune. With my Cara and generic Jedi costumes, I am a member of the Rebel Legion - Lion Base organization. It brings together Star Wars fans who take their devotion to SW seriously and aren’t afraid to dedicate their time not only to making truly high-quality costumes but also to charity.
A special place in my costumed heart also belongs to Neema from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and a genderbend costume of Joel Miller from The Last Of Us.

And what is your dream costume?
There are so many! I love Star Wars: The Old Republic. I definitely want to try (again and better!) to make the Hooligan Armor Set (Imperial Agent). In my “on hold” projects, I have the Satele Shan costume (from the KOTFE & KOTET DLC) – I need to lose a bit of weight for that one :D And then Empress Acina. But Acina will take me a lot more time. It’s sitting on the pile of projects for “when I’m big and rich.” Anyway, the Hooligan has been my dream for a very long time.

I made it once, but it was only half-hearted. Back then, I didn’t have the skills and equipment I have now. I definitely want to fulfill this dream in 2024 and become a member of the 501st Legion. And with my Mandalorian costume, I would love to become a founding member of the Mandalorian Protectors covert in the Czech Republic.
