The BattleTech Beginner Box is perfect for players starting out with BattleTech. It includes basic scenarios and two BattleMechs.
BattleTech is a tabletop miniatures game set in the distant future, where human clans wage war using heavily armored BattleMechs. Choose from pre-built 'Mechs or customize your own to complete scenario objectives. It is up to you how you arm your unit and what stats you prioritize, as not every weapon or 'Mech suits every situation. Sometimes speed is key, other times heavy armor is the way to go—and fitting both into one design is often impossible.

The Beginner Box is weak. In terms of rules, it contains what used to be part of the core box—essentially an Introduction to BattleTech. The problem is that back then, you played one or two scenarios in this intro and moved on to study more advanced rules, which were also more fun; without physical attacks and overheating, it gets boring after a few games.
As a simplified ruleset, the Alpha Strike version is much more successful, as its cinematic nature focuses on battles involving many 'Mechs at once on 3D terrain.
The only advantage of this box is the miniature of the classic Griffin, which you can't get anywhere else, and the short story "The Golden Rule," which is also unique to this set.
Verdict: If you don't mind spending more money, buy this box together with the BattleTech: A Game of Armored Combat box; otherwise, just buy the latter.
Začátečnická krabice je slabá. Z hlediska pravidel obsahuje to, co bylo dřív součástí základní krabice, tedy jakýsi Úvod do BattleTechu. Problém je, že dřív jste si v tomto úvodu zahráli jeden dva scénáře a šli dál studovat pokročilejší pravidla, která byla i zábavnější, protože bez fyzických útoků a přehřívání je to po pár hrách nuda.
Jako zjednodušená pravidla má mnohem větší úspěch verze Alpha Strike, která se díky své filmovosti zaměřuje na bitvy mnoha OBRů najednou v 3D terénu.
Jedinou výhodou této krabice je figurka tradičního Gryfa, kterou neseženete nikde jinde, a povídka Zlaté pravidlo, která je tu taky unikátní.
Závěr: Pokud vám nevadí utratit víc peněz, kupte tuto krabici společně s krabicí BattleTech: Game of Armored Combat, jinak kupte rovnou tu druhou.
This smaller new BattleTech box serves as a perfect "taster" for the game. It mainly includes simplified Quick-Start rules for absolute beginners, a basic map, and two miniatures.
You'll appreciate the extra cardboard standees and hex tiles to customize your map. The only downside is that the Wolverine is already included in the core box, but modelers can have fun with conversions instead :)
Menší z nových krabic BattleTech přináší v podstatě takovou "ukázku" hry. Obsahuje zejména zjednodušená pravidla Quick to play pro úplné začátečníky, jednoduchou mapu a dvě miniatury.
Potěší karton s OBRy navíc a hexy, kterými lze upravit mapu. Mínus bych viděl v tom, že Wolverin je obsažen už v hlavní krabici, ale modelář si zas může vyhrát s konverzí :)
I recommend the BattleTech Beginner Box to complete newcomers as a trial before diving into the main box, where the rules are significantly more complex.
It’s perfect for learning the game's fundamentals. The BattleTech box includes 2 high-quality models: the 55-ton WOLVERINE and the 55-ton GRIFFIN. I highly recommend it to all beginners. I’m docking one star because one of the models is identical to one found in the main box, which is a bit of a shame.
Battletech beginner box bych doporučil úplným nováčkům na vyzkoušení před hlavním boxem, kde i pravidla jsou o dosti náročnější.
Tady si člověk vyzkouší základy hry na pochopení hry. Battletech obsahuje 2 kvalitní modely WOLWERINE 55 TŮN a GRIFFIN 55 TŮN. Za mně mužů jen nováčkům doporučit. Jednu hvězdu dolů na hodnocení za jeden shodný model obra který najdete i v hlavním boxů, to trošku zamrzí.
I've only had it for a few days, but I can say it's a great package for a good price, perfect for anyone wanting to start battles in the 31st century.
The quality of the mechs is excellent, with plenty of detail.
The box content is more than worth the price, allowing you to play a few games and then decide whether to dive in fully or not.
Mám ho len pár dní ale môžem povedať že je to dobré balenie za dobrú cenu a vhodné na to aby každý kto si kúpi tento box mohol začať boje v 31. storočí.
Kvalita mechov je vynikajúca, dostatok detailov.
Obsah krabice za tú cenu je viac než dobrý, s tým že sa daju odohrat hry a potom zvážiť že či sa do toho plno ponoriť alebo nie.
