Magic and Wizard Duels

The May issue of White Dwarf (number 524) pulls you into a world of powerful arcane magic. New rules let you create your own unique mage for your Cities of Sigmar army in Age of Sigmar. Plus, you'll find all the components, cards, and an arena inside for a fast-paced Arcane Duel mini-game.

The War for Armageddon Continues

Warhammer 40,000 fans head to the battlefields of the ruined world of Armageddon in this issue, where the third massive war is reaching its peak. Dive deep into the history of the hive cities and see the return of the legendary Commissar Yarrick. You'll also get details on the mechanized wave of Ork boss Wazdakka Gutsmek, accompanied by a massive battle report against the Astra Militarum.

Co-op Tactics in Kill Team

If you prefer smaller skirmishes, a new cooperative mission for Kill Team will put your teamwork to the test. Can your squad escape a sinking Ork submarine, or will you meet your end in the dark depths? The magazine also features the usual Paint Splatter painting guides and new scenarios for your monthly gaming sessions.

The magazine is in English.

Make May magical with issue 524 of White Dwarf – let’s take a look through its pages before it’s available for pre-order on Saturday.

Wondrous wizards take centre stage in the next issue of White Dwarf – a new arcane Anvil of Apotheosis allows you to create the Collegiate Mage of your dreams to join your Cities of Sigmar army. Choose your wizard’s origins and flaws, design their spell, and give them a companion and other upgrades.

This opens up some fun conversion options for your miniatures, and once you’ve created your wizard, you can unleash them in the new Arcane Duel mini-game. White Dwarf includes the rules, cards, and a tear-out arena for you to play this fast-paced, spell-slinging match-up. Can you prove yourself the most masterful mage?

May’s issue also takes a trip to Armageddon with a look at the movers and shakers as the third war intensifies. There’s a history of the planet and updates from the biggest hive cities. An in-depth look at Wazdakka Gutsmek, his Speedwaaagh!, and miniature teaches you everything you need to know about this two-wheeled menace. The bikeboss also stars in an Armoured Gauntlet battle report against the vehicular might of the Astra Militarum – can Commissar Graves put an end to this threat once and for all?

A Joint Ops mission for Kill Team sees you working together to escape a sinking Ork sub! Can you get out, or will it become your watery tomb? There’s also your usual favourites such as Paint Splatter, scenarios of the month for Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar, and the final part of the serial The Chronicles of Bain.

Although we’re a little put out that “strong fashion sense” is a flaw.

Our favourite is the little toad-guy that comes with the Elementalist.

Including the returning legend Commissar Yarrick.
