An excellent starter set for the new edition of Warhammer 40,000. The new edition is a joy to play, and I especially appreciate the emphasis on the fact that there are multiple ways to enjoy it; a tournament mentality and winning at all costs is just one of them. The set offers great value, as it includes two full armies of new Space Marines and Death Guard, as well as the complete hardcover core rulebook.

Even though I'm not entirely thrilled with the new lore changes (but well, it's all propaganda :P), the models are flawless. Finally, truescale marines and beautifully disgusting Nurgle followers.

Výborný starter set novej edície Warhammeru 40,000. Novú edíciu je radosť hrať, obzvlášť si cením zvýraznenie faktu, že existuje viacero ciest ako si ju užiť, turnajová mentalita a výhra za každú cenu je len jedna z nich. Set je dosť dobrá úspora, lebo obsahuje dve celé armády nových Mariňákov a Death Guardy, ako aj kompletnú hlavnú knihu pravidiel v pevnej vazbe.

Aj keď tiež nie som úplne nadšený novými zmenami v backrounde (ale well, všetko je to propaganda :P ), tak modelom sa nedá nič vytknúť. Konečne truescale marína a krásne nechutný nurgláci.

A large version of the Warhammer 40,000 starter set. It includes a full rulebook and two distinct armies made of simplified, non-poseable models that are easy to assemble so you can start playing quickly. Unfortunately, unlike previous sets, this one contains no terrain at all, which is a shame.

The 8th edition of Warhammer 40,000 brought mixed feelings. Some complain about excessive simplification, while others lament the reduced importance of melee combat and transport vehicles. On the other hand, the game is faster-paced compared to the previous edition and allows for a greater focus on narrative elements, such as Stratagems and evolving mission Objectives.
For me and my son, it is definitely a step in the right direction because simpler means more playable. However, transports and melee combat are indeed less significant than they used to be. A pity.

Velká varianta základní sady Warhammer 40.000. Plnohodnotná kniha pravidel, dvě odlišné armády složené ze zjednodušených nepolohovatelných modelů, které je ovšem snadné sestavit a rychle začít hrát. V sadě bohužel oproti dřívějším zvyklostem není vůbec žádný terén, což je škoda.

8.edice Warhammer 40.000 přinesla rozporuplné pocity. Někteří žehrají na přílišné zjednodušení, někteří na oslabení významu boje zblízka a transportních vozidel. Oproti předchozí edici je naopak hra svižnější a umožňujě větší soustřední na výpravný charakter, jako např. na strategické finty (Strategem) a průběžný vývoj cílů hry (Objectives).
Pro mě a syna je to rozhodně posun k lepšímu, protože jednodušší znamená hratelnější. Ovšem transporty a boj zblízka jsou skutečně méně významné než bývaly. Škoda.
