The Old Dominion

Long ago, a trio of gods elevated humanity and led it toward the heights of civilization. Eventually, Hazlia became its principal deity, and the then-Dominion brought the known world under its rule—not even the elder races of the Spires and Holds could match their power.

And then, Hazlia also became its downfall. To this day, no one knows exactly how the God fell and returned disfigured, or why a pillar of twisted light reaches toward the heavens in the middle of the former capital—but one thing is certain.

The return of Hazlia brought with it a flood of energy that warped and resurrected the bodies and the dead of practically the entire East. To this day, the entire former territory is interwoven with this energy and littered with the undead, and only a handful of the living survived exposure to this power. Yet, all these undead are united by one singular urge—to eradicate the living.
