The City States
/ productsFaced with the inevitable Fall of the Dominion, one of its most powerful and learned men, Constantius Domulexor, decided to save as much of the pinnacle of humanity as possible—especially its people and knowledge. Using his influence, first covertly and later openly, he hid and preserved countless archives, libraries, and expeditions, which he sent out to establish new cities. Through a powerful ritual, he then imbued each city with a fragment of himself so that, together with a council of elders, he could rule and guide them.
Yet, even he was not infallible—and although the cities were founded on knowledge, nobility, and progress, they became twisted under the influence of these corrupted fragments. Some focus on hoarding knowledge, others have fallen to demagoguery, and some succumb to the fickle whims of their inhabitants. Without the cities, there is no reliable unity, and therefore, no peaceful future.
