Description
The book has minor scuffs. (see photo) Limited edition. The protagonist Samuel Vimes feels great. Nevertheless, he is convinced by circumstances (less so) and his beloved wife Sybil (more so) that he needs a vacation that will benefit both him and little Sam. The rural idyll is beautiful, but boring. But as Vimes says: "Where there are police, there is crime!" Soon, various smaller and larger mysteries begin to emerge in the Shire, and it is no longer just the terrible rural silence that keeps Vimes awake.
What happened in the Shire years ago? What does the local blacksmith Zafrkoň know about it? And where did he suddenly disappear to? Did Vimes kill him, as the local elite, especially young Lord Gravid Rzezacz, would like to prove? Does the former policeman Jeminák, the local innkeeper, have anything to do with it? And what about the local goblins and their unggue pots? Is only tobacco really being smuggled in the Shire? Will little Sam finally get the coveted elephant dung for his collection? And will the Orobinec sextuplet girls get married? Vimes solves all this with the excellent help of the peerless Willikins, who has no competition. Terry Pratchett again just as readers love him.
