Small World
Description
In Small World, players fight to conquer a world that is simply too small to hold all its inhabitants. You control various races, all battling for living space.
Your goal is to occupy the board with your chosen race and earn victory points by holding regions. Every race has its own pros and cons. Rats are numerous, trolls fortify their regions, wizards gain extra points from magic sources, and so on. Eventually, every race runs out of steam and enters a state of decline. You must time this perfectly and pick a new race to lead to glory.
The game ends after a set number of rounds based on the player count. The player with the most victory coins from their controlled territories wins. It is a highly dynamic game, and we highly recommend it from our own experience!

The game features beautiful artwork. The variety of character combinations and their abilities changes the strategy of every game. We love playing Small World; every session is unique. With two players, it plays quite fast, so neither setup nor gameplay takes much time.
Hra je pěkně graficky zpracovaná. Rozmanitost kombinací postav a jejich vlastností mění strategii každé hry. Small world hrajeme rádi, každá hra je jiná. Při hře dvou hráčů je poměrně rychle odehraná, takže nezabere mnoho času ani příprava, ani hraní.
I bought this game a while ago and we've played it in various groups since then. It works perfectly fine with two players. The only issue is that with 5 players, there aren't enough races without expansions, and you lose some of the deeper planning. Otherwise, the game is perfect and will definitely be even more interesting with expansions. The combination of races and abilities gives the game great replayability. The player boards look nice. It's a shame there isn't support for 6 players. Otherwise, I highly recommend it.
Hru som zakúpil už dávnejšie a od vtedy sme ju hrali už v rôznych zostavách.V pohode sa dá zahrať aj dvaja. Jedine v 5 hráčoch bez dokúpených dodatkov je málo rás a stráca sa viac menej nejaké väčšie plánovanie.Hra je inak perfektná a dodatkami bude určite ešte zaujímavejšia.Kombinácia rás a schopností dáva hre novú hrateľnosť.Hráčske mapky sú pekné.Chýba trošku hra pre 6 hráčov. Inak vrelo odporúčam

A massive hit from the 2009-2010 season that hasn't aged a day and is still going strong in 2017, as proven by the ongoing release of expansions. Philippe Keyaerts' game Vinci (from 1999) returns with a fresh look, a fantasy theme, and near-infinite replayability. Ancient civilizations have been replaced by halflings, dwarves, skeletons, and even ratmen. The game is perfect as is, and it only gets better with every new expansion. Playable with any number of players (from 2 to 5, or up to 6 with certain expansions). Even numbers allow for team play (team rules are available for download online).
Obrovský hit sezóny 2009-2010, který nezestárnul a drží se (jak dokazují třeba nadále se objevující rozšíření) i v roce 2017. Keyaertsova hra Vinci (z roku 1999) v novém grafickém kabátku, fantasy úpravě a snad až nekonečné variabilitě. Starověké národy vystřídali půlčici, trpaslíci, kostlivci nebo třeba krysy. Hra perfektně vytěžitelná tak jak je a s každým dalším rozšířením jen nabírá na obrátkách. Hratelná v libovolném počtu hráčů (tedy v rozmezí 2-5, s některými rozšířeními až v 6). V sudých počtech možnost týmové hry (pravidla pro týmovou úpravu ke stažení na netu).
Small World is a great game even for complete beginners who have only played party games like Activity before. In this game, you control a fantasy race and try to conquer territory. The problem is that the world is damn small, and there simply isn't enough room for everyone to live in peace. So, you have to fight, and fight hard. The game offers huge variability with tons of races and special abilities that are randomly paired at the start (not to mention the heap of mini-expansions released for it). The rules are simple enough for beginners, but the game is strategically "demanding" enough for hardcore board gamers too. Plus, it has beautiful production, provided you don't mind the slightly cartoonish art style.
Small World je velmi dobrá hra i pro úplné začátečníky, kteří dosud hráli jen párty hry typu Activity. Jde o hru, ve které ovládáte se svojí krásnou fantasy rasou území. Problém je, že tento svět je zatraceně malý a všichni se tam prostě mírumilovně nevejdete. Takže musíte bojovat a to zatraceně tvrdě. Hra nabízí obrovskou variabilitu, se spoustou možných ras a schopností, které jsou k sobě na začátku náhodně přiřazeny (a nezapomínejme na tu fůru mini-rozšíření, které ke hře vyšly). Pravidla jsou dostatečně jednoduchá pro začátečníky, ale strategicky je hra dost "náročná" i pro tvrdé deskohráče. A taky má krásné zpracování, tedy pokud vám nevadí lehce infantilní styl malby
An excellent, "addictive" game with a great pace. Thanks to the small game board, players have to constantly attack each other, keeping everyone on their toes throughout the game.
Once you've played it a few times (and it will take a few rounds to get there), I recommend picking up one of the expansions. They add new races and classes, increasing the game's variability and introducing exciting new combinations.
The advantage is the separate game board for different player counts—the game remains perfectly balanced no matter how many people are playing.
Vynikající "žravá" hra, která má spád. Díky malému hracímu plánu na sebe musí hráči neustále útočit, takže jsou všichni ve hře pořád v jednom kole.
Když se hra trochu ohraje (a že vás to bude stát něco partií), doporučuju přikoupit některé z rozšíření obsahující nové rasy a povolání, čímž se zvýší variabilita hry a přibudou nové zajímavé kombinace.
Výhodou je samostatný hrací plán pro různý počet hráčů - hra je tak skvěle vyvážená v jakémkoli počtu.
