Pathfinder (Second Edition): Core Rulebook

Honestly, I bought the Core Rulebook more for my collection while waiting for the Pathfinder 2e Remaster rules to drop. Still, it’s a high-quality book—both in content and binding, which is top-tier for a tome this size. It’s appropriately heavy, too.

The rule structure and clarity could use a bit more love, but that’s what the Player Core is for, which replaces the Core Rulebook. However... when it comes to the question of why buy rules that have been replaced by new ones, the answer is clear: at the very least for the artwork and the fact that it’s a piece of RPG history. I rarely use the book myself, but I don’t regret buying it for a second.

Uprámně vzato jsem Core Rulebook koupil spíše ze sběratelských důvodů, zatímco jsem čekal na vydání Remaster pravidel Pathfinder 2e. Pořád ale jde o velice kvalitní knihu - obsahem i vazbou, která patří mezi to nejlepší, co lze u podobně velké bichle očekávat. Je podle toho také patřičně těžká.

Členění pravidel a jejich srozumitelnost by si zasloužily trochu víc lásky, ale od toho je Player Core, který Core Rulebook nahrazuje. Nicméně... když dojde na otázku proč kupovat pravidla, která jsou nahrazená novými, odpověď je jednoznačně: Minimálně kvůli obrázkům a tomu, že jde o kus RPG historie. Sám knihu používám minimálně, ale ani na moment nelituji, že jsem ji koupil.

If you love RPGs and crave deeper, more complex rules than standard DnD, you'll love Pathfinder. This book is incredibly comprehensive and contains everything you need for an amazing gaming experience in this system.

Pokud jste někdo, kdo rád hraje rpg hry a má zájem o trošku hlubší a komplexnější pravidla než klasické DnD tak se vám Pathfinder bude velmi líbit. Celá kniha je velmi obsáhlá a najdete v ní všechno co potřebujete k skvělým hrám v tomto systému.

A solid alternative to D&D 5e. We probably won't dive into Pathfinder ourselves since we have too many plans and too little time, but it's a high-quality manual that serves as great inspiration for both GMs and players. The design feels a bit old-school, but many of the illustrations are actually quite nice.

Zásadní alternativa k dnd 5e. Asi se do pathfinderu nepustíme, protože plánů je hodně a času málo, ale i jako inspirace pro gm i pro hráče to je kvalitní příručka. Design je trochu staromódní ale řada ilustrací naproti tomu fajn.

Packed with stunning illustrations. While the layout can be a bit cluttered in places, it offers incredibly detailed information.

Velmi obsáhlá a tlustá knížka pravidel pathfinderu druhé edice, která vychází z 3.5 edice dnd. Obsahuje všechny informace o tvorbě základních postav, mechanik hry, kouzel atd. Doplněná o spoustu nádherných ilustrací. Layout je lehce nepřehledný v některých úsecích, ale poskytuje velmi detailní informace.
