How to take your measurements correctly

To make sure your costume fits perfectly, you need to take your measurements correctly. Have someone else measure you (it's more accurate). Always stand up straight while measuring.

  • Head circumference - measure where the edge of the hat will sit; above the ears for low-profile hats, or over the ears for deeper ones.
  • Shoulder circumference - measure just below the curve of the shoulders.
  • Chest circumference - measure at the widest part of your chest.
  • Waist circumference - measure at the narrowest part of your waist.
  • Hip circumference - measure at the widest part of your hips.
  • Sleeve length - keep your arm hanging straight down, slightly bent at the elbow. Run the tape measure from your neck, over your shoulder and elbow to your wrist (for outerwear, the sleeve should end at the thumb joint). If you want a shorter sleeve, add a note to your order stating that your measured sleeve is three-quarter length.
  • Garment length - measure on your back, from the last cervical vertebra (the prominent one) downwards. For verification, also include your total height.
