A miniatures game built on the popular Mage Knight system. You play on a grid-based map, so unlike other miniatures games, you don't need a measuring tape. Character stats are located directly on the special rotating bases, so you can always see how your characters are doing during the game.

The HeroClix Lord of the Rings starter set contains everything you need to start playing this miniatures game based on J.R.R. Tolkien's famous work. The starter includes five figures from the base set and 3 figures exclusive to this starter. The box also contains 6 maps, rules including a campaign (in English), 48 bystander tokens, and a set of themed dice. The figures are plastic and pre-painted.

Throughout the campaign, you can play through all the key locations from The Lord of the Rings (from the journey to Rivendell, through the Mines of Moria, to the Battle of the Black Gate).
