Gellert Grindelwald is one of the most powerful and dangerous dark wizards in the history of J. K. Rowling's wizarding world, featured in the Harry Potter books and films and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. He didn't finish his studies at Durmstrang Institute, and shortly after, he befriended Albus Dumbledore. Together, they searched for the Deathly Hallows, among other things.
