The miniatures in this set are beautifully painted and detailed. Don't worry if you pull a duplicate—the more, the merrier! These are officially licensed collectibles. Think of it as a long-term investment; you might even sell them for more than you paid later on. Some of these figures were produced in limited quantities.

Figurky z této edice jsou krásně malované a natisklé. Pokud někdy dostanete z toho boosteru duplikát, nevadí! Čím více, tím lépe. Figurky jsou licencované a tudíž jsou sběratelské. Je to minimálně investice do budoucna, jednou je budete moci prodat i za větší cenu, než byste je pořídili. Některých figurek bylo zkrátka vyrobeno pouze omezené množství.

I've had the D&D Miniatures: Icons of the Realms - Snowbound set since October, 10 boosters in total. Content-wise, this set follows the Monster Menagerie 1-3 sets. Despite its name, it offers figures of creatures associated with polar regions or winter environments in general, including some mentioned in the Icewind Dale sourcebook that weren't in the Icons set of the same name.
Generally, however, Snowbound is dominated by figures that aren't typical polar inhabitants. This applies to all three Huge-sized giants I found in the boosters (in the back right of the photo): a hill giant swinging a club (much smaller than the version from Storm King's Thunder), a stumbling, deformed Fomorian, and a blue stone giant (a more muscular variant than the one from Storm King's Thunder).
In front of the Fomorian is an iridescent snow golem (a small Large) throwing a hardened snowball, surrounded by a pair of grinning, grayish ice trolls. Directly in front of it hovers a winged, bluish Deva, just as nice as its older version from set 1. Conversely, the beige, gargoyle-like creature placed in front of the hill giant is noticeably larger (and better looking) than its version from set 1. From the boosters, I got a total of six small green frog-like Bullywug humanoids: three hopping warriors with spears, two healers in orator poses, and sitting between them, the Bullywug King in a crown—a rare figure and one of the more valuable ones in the set (front, slightly to the right). Overall, these Bullywugs are smaller than their older versions from the Savage Encounters set in the DUNGEON COMMAND cycle.
Behind them, right in front of the troll, you can see the rare figure of the dark dwarf matron Gradolphy (a character from Icewind Dale!). To her left is the rare, slender green Sea Hag (a less successful variant than the one from Monster Menagerie 2). A new addition is the polar bear at the far front left, as well as the trio of magical Magen constructs further to the right: from left to right, Demos Magen, Hypnos Magen, and Galvan Magen. Right behind them is a trio of Cambion figures, or Half-Fiends—specifically, their female/more universal version compared to the male Cambion devil from the Dungeon Dragon Heist set. Behind them on the left stand two figures of small, evil, long-nosed winged extraplanars: an Ice Mephit and a Dust Mephit, a welcome addition to the other Mephit types from Monster Menagerie 3.
Next to them is a green dryad, nicer than the three older versions in the Icons of the Realms line, and further back is a trio of younglings: a small white dragon, more detailed than the one from Monster Menagerie 2, a small griffon, and a small myconid. Around them are three adult mushroom creatures—myconids: two rainbow-colored rank-and-file ones and their red-and-black ruler (who is Large and rare).
Behind him is a well-crafted Mimic disguised as a stone, while in front of him is an ape-like, blue-green subterranean Quaggoth—worse in color, but better in craftsmanship than the one from Rage of Demons. In front of it are two Chardalyn berserkers, wild natives from the Icewind Dale story. At the very front is a metallic, shiny small Chardalyn Pseudodragon, and at the far front right are two black, amoebic Psychic Gray Oozes, with a giant flightless Axe Beak bird behind them. The painting was a bit sloppy this time—specifically, one Bullywug has black smudges on its head, and one of the Fomorian's eyes is a bit crooked. The Green Hag leans backward, and the Fomorian is tilted a bit further forward than it should be. Despite these flaws, they are quite beautiful, and I'm satisfied with them.

DD Miniatures: Icons of the Realms - Snowbound mám od října, celkem 10 boostrů. Tento set navazuje obsahově na sety Monster menagerie 1-3, třebaže s ohledem na svůj název nabízí figurky bytostí spojených s polárními kraji či obecně se zimním prostředím, ba dokonce i některé zmíněné v příručce Icewind Dale, které ve stejnojmenném setu figurek Icons nebyly obsaženy.
Obecně ale ve Snowbond převažují figurky které nejsou typickými polárními obyvateli. To se týká všech tří obrů velikosti Huge, které jsem v boostrech našel (na fotce vpravo vzadu), jmenovitě kopcového obra máchajícího kyjem (o dost menšího než jeho verze ze Storm King's Thunder), potácejícího se deformovaného obra Fomoriana a modrého kamenného obra (svalnatější varianta k tomu ze Storm King's Thunder).
Před Fomorianem se nachází opalizující sněhový golem (malé Large) vrhající tvrzenou sněžnou hroudu, obklopený dvojicí rozšklebených šedavých ledových trollů, přímo před ním poletuje okřídlený namodralý Deva, obdobně pěkný jako jeho starší varianta ze setu 1, naopak chrliči podobná béžová Gargoyla umístěná před kopcovým obrem je oproti svojí verzí ze setu 1 o poznání větší (a hezčí). Z boostrů jsem získal celkem šest malých zelených žabích humanoidů Bullywugů, a to tři poskakující bojovníky s kopími, dva felčary v řečnické póze a mezi nimi sedícího krále Bullywugů v korunce, figurku s četností rare, jednu z cennějších v rámci setu (ve předu trochu více vpravo); celkově jsou tito Bullywugové drobnější než jejich starší verze ze setu Savage Encounters v rámci cyklu DUNGEON COMMAND .
Za nimi hned před trollem je k vidění rare figurka snědé matróny temných trpaslíků Gradolphy (postava z Icewind Dale!), nalevo od ní pak rovněž rare štíhlá zelená Sea Hag (méně zdařilá varianta té z Monster Menagerie 2) Novinkou je polární medvěd zcela vlevo vpředu, stejně jako kus více vpravo trojice magických konstruktů Magenů, jmenovitě od leva Demos Magen, Hypnos Magen a Galvan Magen. Hned za nimi se nachází trojice figurek Cambionů, neboli Half-Fiendů, respektive jejich ženská/univerzálnější verze k mužskému Cambion devil z Dungeon Dragon Heist setu. Za nimi vlevo stojí dvě figurky malých zlých nosatých okřídlených extraplanarů, a to Ice Mephit a Dust Mephit, vítané doplnění k jiným druhům Mephitů z Monster menagerie 3.
Vedle nich je zelená dryáda, hezčí než tři její starší verze v rámci Icons Realms, ještě více vzadu pak je trojice mláďat. Je to malý bílý drak, propracovanější než ten z Monster Menagerie 2, malý gryf a malý mykonid. Okolo jsou i tři dospělé houbové bytosti- mykonidi, dva duhoví řadoví a potom jejich červenočerný vládce (ten je velikosti Large a rare).
Za ním je zdařile vyhlížející Mimic maskující se jako kámen, naopak před ním je opici podobný modrozelený podzemní Quaggoth. barevně horší, ale zpracováním lepší než ten z Rage of Demons. Před ním je dvakrát Chardalyn berserkr, divoký domorodec z příběhu Icewind Dale. Zcela vpředu je ještě kovově lesklý malý Chardalyn Pseudodragon, zcela vpravo vpředu pak dvakrát černý amébní Psychic Gray Ooze a za nimi obří nelétavý pták Axe Beak. Barvení bylo tentokrát trochu odbytu, jmenovitě u jednoho Bullywuga, co má černé čmouhy na hlavě a jedno oko Fomoriana je trochu nakřivo.. Green Hag se potácí dozadu a také Fomorian je trochu více nahnutý do předu než by měl být. Přes zmíněné nedostatky jsou poměrně krásné a byl jsem tak s nimi spokojený.

Lady Luck was on my side and I pulled a giant orc war wagon pulled by two polar bears from the booster. Finally, I have at least one Mimic in my collection too. The rest were just small fry, but nothing that couldn't be used in future campaigns. The miniatures are well-painted and, apart from a few spikes on the wagon and the legs of one bullywug, they aren't even bent.

Štěstěna mi byla nakloněna a z boosteru na mě vypadl obří skřetí válečný vůz tažený dvěma ledními medvědy. Konečně mám také ve sbírce aspoň jednoho Mimica. Zbytek už byla jen malá drobotina, ale nic, co by nešlo v dalších kampaních využít. Figurky jsou dobře nabarvené a kromě pár ostnů na voze a nohou jednoho bullywuga nejsou ani zohýbané.

Super série booster boxů s rozmanitým výběrem monster, které se spíše hodí do dobrodružství, která se odehrávají v chladném až mrazivém prostředí. Měl jsem štěstí a vytáhnul si vše, co jsem v podstatě chtěl :)
