Citadel Painting Handle XL (2021)

Great handle for oversized miniatures. It fits nicely in the hand. The miniatures hold securely without any issues. I was worried the handle would be too heavy or too fragile, but the manufacturers found a great compromise.

Skvělé držadlo na nadrozměrné figurky. Do ruky sedí pěkně. Figurky bez problémů drží. Bál jsem se, že držadlo bude příliš těžké, nebo naopak příliš křehké a za mě výrobci našli dobrý kompromis.

Fits in the hand just as perfectly as its smaller brother. The miniature stays in the holder, though it can be a bit tricky to set down if the figure isn't symmetrical, as it tends to tilt to the side. For me, that's a minor detail; the grip while painting is what matters most.

Perfektní do ruky stejně jako menší bráška. Figurka v držáku drží, problém trošku s odložení kdy se figurka trošku překlápí na stranu pokud není souměrná. Za mě je to drobnost, důležitý je pro mě úchop při barvení.

Well, this was a bit of a letdown... the spring is weak, so the miniature fell out a few times while I was painting. If you keep that in mind, it's okay, I guess... and it's definitely better than holding the miniature in your hand. Otherwise, it has a nice weight to it.

Tak tohle mě trochu zklamalo... slabá pružina, takže se mi několikrát stalo, že figurka uprostřed malovani vypadla. Když se s tím ale počítá, tak dejme tomu...a určitě lepší, než figurku držet v ruce... jinak to má příjemnou váhu do ruky.

I have to say that the XL version is a bit worse than the classic Citadel Painting Handle. While it fits a wider range of sizes, the holder has lost its "handiness". The edges are often sharp, the springs are weaker, and it doesn't hold the base as securely.
I'll definitely find a use for it, but I'd rather secure the miniature base with a rubber band so it doesn't fall out.

It's not a bad holder, but the smaller version is definitely more practical.

Bohužel musím konstatovat, že XL verze je o něco horší, než klasický Citadel Painting Handle. Do této se sice vejde větší množství velikostí, ale držák tím ztratil "šikovnost". Hrany jsou často ostré, pružinky jsou slabší a tedy tak dobře podstavec nedrží.
Využití pro něj určitě najdu, ale raději si podstavec figurky ještě pojistím gumičkou, aby z držáku nevypadla.

Držák špatný není, ale menší verze je rozhodně praktičtější.

I have mixed feelings about this. Some of my figures fall out of the smaller holder due to their weight, and I hoped this one would solve that. Unfortunately, the springs are quite weak. I'll either take it apart and install stronger ones or use a rubber band to help, but it could definitely be better.

Still, it holds well enough.

Tak tady mám trochu smíšené pocity, z malého držáku mi některé figurky kvůli váze padají, a tenhle to měl vyřešit. Bohužel ty pružiny drží celkem slabě. Buď to rozdělám a dám tam silnější, nebo si pomůžu nějakou gumičkou, každopádně mohl být lepší.

Ale drží se dobře.

A good, large holder for bigger miniatures. The figures fit well, but the base could be wider; it sometimes tips over when you set it down. Otherwise, a great tool.

dobry velky drzak na vetsi basky. figurky mne osobne v nem dobre sedely, spis by chtelo zakladnu sirsi, stane se, ze pri odlozeni drzaku se drzak prevrati . Jinak super pomucka

Unfortunately, the larger version of the figure holder has less stable spring-loaded clips. This means that with large and heavy figures, they can slip out of the grips in certain positions while you're painting. Don't get me wrong, it's definitely a practical tool, but be prepared for the fact that a giant, dragon, kraken, or another expensive figure might fly out, and in the worst case, get ruined if it falls into your paint palette. You need to handle it very carefully. I would definitely trust it more if it had 3 or 4 clips.

Bohužel má větší verze držáku figurek menší stabilitu úchytek na pružinách, což zákonitě způsobuje u velkých a těžkých figurek, že vám v jistých pozicích během barvení z paciček vyklouznou a vypadnou. Neberte mě zle, je to určitě praktická věc, ale počítejte s tím, že vám obr, drak, kraken nebo jiná drahá figurka jednou vyletí a v horším případě se nenávratně obarví když spadne do barevné palety. Je potřeba s tím pracovat hodně obezřetně. Určitě bych v to měl větší důvěru kdyby úchytky byly 3 nebo 4.

I bought this holder as a gift for a friend who loves painting miniatures and is really good at it. He needed a better grip, though, as he kept getting paint all over his fingers when working on larger bases. He’s absolutely thrilled with it, and I’m happy I could make his day. Držák byl zakoupen jako dárek pro kamaráda, který barví velice dobře a rád. Nicméně potřeboval nějaký rozsáhlejší úchop. Měl prý neustále prsty od barev, když došlo na figurky většího podstavce. Je nadmíru spokojen. A já jsem rád, že jsem mu mohl udělat radost. Radost udělalo imago pro změnu mě, když splnilo mé přání a připojilo vzkaz mým jménem. Velice děkuji a chválím.

Great for large miniatures, I don't like holding them in my hands, but the spring isn't very strong, so you'll need to use some blue tack as well.
