Signal horns have likely accompanied humanity since the very beginning. Blowing into animal horns served many purposes, from hunting and combat to various celebrations.
This polished long calling horn uses a technique similar to a trumpet—the key is the correct embouchure (blowing air through closed, vibrating lips). You can change the tones by adjusting lip tension and breath force. The horn is approximately 50 cm long.
Blowing a horn takes practice. Each horn has a unique sound and requires a different technique. To play, press your lips together and blow hard. Generally, the smaller the horn, the harder it is to play, as it requires more breath pressure. Try practicing without the horn first; the sound should be sustained, not intermittent. If you play wind instruments like a trumpet or didgeridoo, you will likely have no trouble playing this horn.

When my friend and I ordered the stuff, my dad warned me way too late that it doesn't make a real sound like in the movies. I was a bit disappointed back then. When it arrived, my friend and I tried blowing into it, but it didn't really work. After a while, I learned how to honk it, and today my brother and I have fun scaring grandmas on the street. Once you learn how to blow it, you can even try echoing it over your home village like I do. Jakub Šulík
Keď sme si z kamarátom obiednali veci, ež príliš neskoro ma otec upozornil, že vo filmoch nie je reálny zvuk. To som v tedy trocha zvedol. Keď to prišlo, s kamarátom sme do toho fúkali, ale nejak to nešlo. Po čase som sa s tým naučil trúbiť a dnes sa z bratom zabávame tým, že strašíme babky na ulici. Keď sa s tým naučíte trúbiť, môžte skúšať trebars aj ozvenu nad rodnou vieskou ako ja. Jakub Šulík
Absolutely epic! 5 stars isn't enough! My neighbors can't get enough of it either; they listen to the horn blowing 3 times a day and show their support for this magnificent Nordic performance by shouting and banging on their pots and pans. Everyone loves it! They even call their friends in blue uniforms so they can come and listen too. Highly recommended!
Naprosto boží! 5 hvězdiček je málo! Naprosto se ho nemohou nabažit i sousedé, kteří troubení rohu poslouchají 3x denně, přitom výkřiky a boucháním na nádobí podporují toto velkolepé severské vystoupení. Všichni ho milují! Dokonce volají své známé v modrých stejnokrojích, aby si ho šli také poslechnout. Naprosto doporučuji!
I've had the horn since August. I can already blow it, and the sound is awesome—an ideal LARP accessory for calling the ranks or waking up the camp in the morning. I give it 10 out of 10 stars :-) and I'm attaching a photo so you can see how happy I am.
PS: Thanks for the horn strap I paid extra for—the maker did a great job, it holds firmly, and I use the horn all over the Šumperk area :)
Roh mám od srpna. Umím na něj už troubit a ten zvuk je parádní, na larpu ideální doplněk na svolání šiku či na ranní troubení nad táborem spáčů. Dávám 10 hvězdiček z desíti :-) plus přikládám fotografii pro lepší pochopení mé radosti.
PS: děkuji za závěs na roh, za kterej jsem si připlatil - tvůrce byl moc šikovný, pevně drží a to ten roh používám všude v okolí Šumperka :)
I bought this horn about 2 weeks ago. It's much better than I expected. It took a little while to learn how to blow it, but it has a beautiful sound :-) If you want one, don't hesitate!
Tento roh jsem koupil před cca 2 týdny, je mnohem lepší než jsem čekal, chvilku trvalo než jsem se na něj naučil troubit, má krásný zvuk :-) pokud ho chcete, neváhejte!
A really nice horn, perfect as an armor accessory for LARP. It's beautifully crafted, and the price is surprisingly low, just like everything else on this site.
Moc pěkný roh, hodí se na larpy jako doplněk ke zbroji. Je krásně zpracovaný, ta cena je až překvapivě nízká, jako u všech věcí na této stránce.
Absolutely amazing, it blew me away. It's huge and I had to try it out immediately. It took a while, but the sound is fabulous. My neighbors are thrilled...
naprostá paráda, sedla jsem si z toho na zadek, je fakt velký a okamžitě jsem ho musela vyzkoušet, chvilku to trvalo, ale pak ten zvuk fabulózní ,sousedi jsou moc rádi...
