Ashes: Rise of the Phoenixborn

I've owned this game for over two years now and have picked up practically every expansion along the way, as it has truly become a passion of mine.
The combination of a card-based, highly strategic game enriched by a luck element in the form of dice, which serve as "currency" for summoning cards, feels very interesting to me.
The pre-constructed decks are well-balanced and each has its own unique strategy, so this game satisfies both players who prefer an aggressive approach from the start and those who prefer to play slowly and cautiously.
Furthermore, the game's variability increases rapidly with the option to combine decks and create entirely new strategies. All components are high-quality and the cards feature beautiful illustrations. The base set supports 2-4 players, while expansions allow for up to six (though such a game can stretch through the whole night).
Our group prefers playing in four, in two-on-two teams. The rules might seem complex at first glance, but you'll get the hang of them quickly. I can only recommend it!

Tuhle hru vlastním už přes dva roky a postupem času jsem si pořídil i prakticky všechna rozšíření, protože se pro mě stala doslova srdeční záležitostí.
Kombinace karetní, silně strategické hry obohacené o prvek náhody v podobě kostek, které zde slouží jako "platidlo" za vyvolávání karet mi přijde velmi zajímavý.
Předpřipravené hrací balíčky jsou dobře vyvážené a každý má svou jedinečnou strategii, takže tato hra uspokojí jak hráče prosazující agresivní postup hned od začátku, tak hráče postupující pomalu a opatrně.
Variabilita hry se navíc rapidně zvyšuje možností hrací balíčky vzájemně kombinovat a vytvářet tak zcela nové strategie. Všechny komponenty jsou velmi kvalitně zpracované a karty mají nádherné ilustrace. Se základní sadou mohou hrát 2-4 hráči, s případnými rozšířeními je možno hrát až v šesti hráčích (taková hra se však protáhne na celou noc).
Za naši partu hrajeme nejraději ve čtyřech, v týmech dva na dva. Pravidla se na první pohled jeví poměrně složitě, ale brzy se dostanou pod kůži. Mohu jedině doporučit!

Especially for those who prefer less luck in their card games. It's similar to Magic but different in a few aspects.
The artwork is great, the dice are like candy, and everything arrived in perfect condition. Don't let the slightly higher price put you off; if you're bored of Magic or similar games, this one should keep you entertained :)

Hlavne pre ľudí čo majú radšej menej náhody v kartách. Je to podobné ako Magic ale v pár aspektoch iné.
Artwork je super, kocky sú ako cukríky, bez poškodenia. Nenechajte sa odstrašiť trochu vyššou cenou, ak vás nebaví alebo omrzel Magic a podobné hry, táto by vás mala zabaviť :)

The dice are high quality and the card art is stunning. The base set is more than enough for plenty of varied games, but every expansion (new deck) feels completely different and uses unique tactics to secure a win.
I highly recommend this to anyone who dislikes too much luck, as the game always lets you mitigate any 'bad luck'. The only downside is that the publishers have ended development for this game.

Kostky jsou velmi kvalitní, karty mají nádherný art. Základní sada vám bohatě stačí na plno rozdílných her, ale každé rozšíření (nový balíček) je vždy úplně rozdílný a snaží se výhry dosáhnout jinou taktikou.
Vřele doporučuji všem, co moc nemusí náhodu, protože vám hra vždy dovoluje opravit jakékoliv ''špatné štěstí''. Jediná věc, která je na škodu je ta, že už vydavatelé pro tuto hru končili vývoj.

I'm really into this game. It has beautiful artwork and high-quality components. There aren't that many cards, so you'll memorize them after just a few games, but since you get 3 copies of each, you can build your own decks without needing to buy extra sets.

You have several options for building a deck or playing with pre-constructed ones. The game isn't hard to learn, and there's a website with all the cards translated if you're not confident in your English (the manual isn't translated). I'm really enjoying the game and definitely recommend it. Plus, expansions are coming, which will add even more variety.

Hra mě velmi zaujala. Má nádhernou grafiku a kvalitně provedena. Karet není zas tolik, tak se během pár her v žijí do paměti, ale všechny jsou 3x, takže si můžete stavět i své balíčky (nemusí tím pádem dokupovat další sady).

Máte několik variant, jak balíček vytvořit nebo hrát už s již předem daným balíčkem karet. Hra není ani tak těžká na naučení a je i stránka, kde jsou všechny karty přeloženy, pokud angličtinu tolik neovládáte (návod není). Hra mě velmi baví a určitě ji doporučuji. Navíc budou rozšíření, což přidá větší variabilitu.

Velice zajímavá karetní hra s předvytvořenými hracími balíčky. Hrajete za jednoho z Phoenixbornu, který má k dispozici svůj vlastní balíček karet. Vyvoláváte přízraky, povoláváte spojence, kouzlíte apod. Ke kouzlení musíte sestavit určitou kombinaci kostek, což přináší do hry vliv náhody.

Hra je navíc v nádherném grafickém zpracování.
