As the name suggests, this brush is perfect for basecoating. It holds its tip really well so far. Check out the photo comparing it to the brushes from the AP starter set. I bought it specifically because the Starter Brush is too small for larger areas.
Štětec je přesně dle jeho názvu vhodný na basecoating. Špičku drží zatím velmi dobře. Na fotce srovnání se štětci ze základní sady od AP. Pořídil jsem jej právě protože Starter Brush je na větší plochy příliš malý.
As a complete beginner, I asked myself: which brushes and how many? I found these 3 that I can recommend to all beginners to get started:
Army Painter Brush - Wargamer Small Drybrush - for drybrushing techniques.
Army Painter Brush - Basecoating Brush - for applying base coats.
And Kolinsky Red Sable Brush Size 10/0 - for the tiniest details.
These 3 were enough for me to learn the ropes and get a solid foundation in this hobby, though you'll definitely want to expand your collection later on. I highly recommend them.

Tyto 3 mi dostatecne postacili na nauceni a zkratka nejaky zaklad v tomto hobby, postupne ale budete urcite chtit rozsirit o dalsi stetce. Rozhodne doporucuju.
A solid brush that handles basecoats well, but can also manage details. It's firmer, making it ideal for beginner painters. However, it starts to lose its tip after about 12 hours of painting.
Solidní štětec, ačkoli basecoatový dají se s ním zvládnout i detaily. Je pevnější, ideální pro začínající malíře.. Po zhruba 12 hodinách malování ovšem začíná ztrácet špičku.
A high-quality brush for larger areas (in terms of miniatures :)). Just like other Army Painter brushes, this one also looks a bit frayed and shapeless when dry, so you need to shape it a little before you start painting. Once you do, it holds its tip well and can even be used for fairly detailed work. In the photo, it's on the far right, with the Precise Detail to its left and The Psycho on the far left.
Kvalitní štětec na větší plochy (v rámci miniatur :)) Stejně jako jiné štětce od Army painter mám i tento za sucha jakoby roztřepený a bez tvaru a je potřeba ho před prací trochu vytvarovat. Pak i hezky drží špičku a dá se využít i na celkem detailní malbu. Na fotce je úplně vpravo, vlevo od něj Precise detail a nejvíce vlevo The Psycho.
An affordable brush for beginners. The quality isn't great, but it holds a decent point when wet, at least for basecoating (it is called a basecoating brush, after all :-)).
It's very soft, so you'll need something else for smaller areas and details, but for the price...
Levný štětec pro začátečníky. Nic moc kvalita, ale při namočení udělá obstojnou špičku alespoň pro základní nátěr (však se jmenuje basecoating :-)).
Je velmi měkký a na menší plochy a detaily budete muset použít něco jiného, ale za ten peníz....
